Bad Blood

Sonic's POV

I can't believe I just shot the one I loved! I dropped the gun and covered my mouth. His limp body laid on the dirt, his blood colored the earth underneath him. I fell to my knees caressing his cheek. Footsteps were coming. I wiped away my tears and cleared my throat.

"Sonic, what happened?" Asked Knuckles. "Did that ass try to attack you?" He asked.

"Yeah, that's exactly what happens so I pulled out my gun and shot him." I told him. "Excuse me." I ran home as fast as I could. Tails wasn't home, so I fell to my knees with my face in my hands. "Why? Why must this happen to me?!" I hit the concrete.

I cried myself to sleep that night. The next morning they said they would despise of Shadow's body. I got into my uniform and ran to the base.

"What are we going to do with his body?" I asked as Shadow's body sat on a metal table.

"We're going to burn him." Said Eggman. "Sonic put him in the log pile out back and light it up." He demanded. I was about to cry as they handed me his body, but held it in.

"Yes sir." I said as I carried him away. Everyone was in a meeting with Eggman. I put Shadow on the wood. I held the flamethrower in my shaky hands. "I can't do this!" I dropped it. I had to give Shadow the peace he deserved. I put another thing in the fire as I burnt it and took Shadow home.

I know it's insane to have a dead person in my home. I got him a nice coffin and placed him in. I had dug a hole in my nice backyard. I looked down at his figure one last time before closing the coffin. I put it in the hole and covered it with dirt and a patch of a grass and flowers. It started raining, so I went inside.

Tails came home.

"Hi Sonic!" He greeted. I wiped away my tears quickly.

"Oh...um. Hey..." I responded.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"Yeah, I just hit my knee really badly and it hurt a ton." I told him.

"Do you want me to check it? Maybe it's broken."

"No. I...um, got to go." I ran upstairs and shut the door to my room. I fell on my bed and hugged my pillow, wishing it was Shadow.

I never got to kiss you...

I didn't hug you...

You can't hold me in your arms...

I missed those ruby eyes...

My thoughts were interrupted by a loud thunder. Lighting lit up my room. The lights went out. It was them when I realized the coffin in the backyard had been opened. I gasped and ran outside, not caring if I got wet or not. The coffin was empty, only one set of footprints. Could this mean?

He's still alive?

Ooooh! Who was it? Did Knuckles see Sonic and took Shadow out of the coffin to burn him himself? Or what was it? We'll find out next. Sorry if it's short. I was falling asleep.
