Chapter Three

“Des, wake up!” I felt Bae shaking me violently, so I dragged my eyes open. I sat up slowly, looking around my room. My blanket was ripped to shreds, and my dresser was on the floor.

“Wait, w-what happened?” I asked, putting my hair behind my ears and totally disregarding the transformation process.

“You’re a wolf,” Bae replied, a smile beaming on his face. I wrinkled my nose, muttering,

“Ew!”

Bae broke into laughter, then grabbed my hands and pulled me out of bed.

“C’mon! Class starts in like, ten minutes,” he said excitedly. I sighed and put my hands on his shoulders.

“I’m a girl. I need to get ready, first,” I said, then stretched my arms. He blinked.

“Oh. Yeah.” I headed to my bathroom, hearing Bae mutter,

“Probably dressing up for that hot shot leader…” I turned my head, looking back at him with a smile.

“What was that?” I asked with a smirk. He shrugged innocently, and then sat on my bed. I stifled my laughter as I went into my bathroom. I brushed through my long, platinum hair and brushed my teeth quickly. I then pulled on a large hoodie, the size of it almost reaching my shorts. I walked out of the bathroom.

“C’mon!” He exclaimed, literally pulling me out of my room. I followed Bae and a couple other wolves as we joined the huge group of people heading to their classes.

As we were walking down the huge hallways, the ground began to shake. I stopped in my tracks, grabbing onto Bae. Everyone started screaming in fear.

An alarm started going off loudly, paralyzing me. I sank to the ground, covering my ears. Bae knelt by me, wrapping his arms around me protectively. Suddenly, a loud voice came over an intercom.

“This is not a test. We are being invaded. Do no-“ the voice was cut off by the horrible sound of blood splattering. I squealed in horror.

Suddenly, a group of full suited men with gas masks ran down our hallway. I clasped onto Bae, but one man kicked him away from me. I felt arms wrap around my stomach, and someone carry me away effortlessly.

“Bae!” I screamed, kicking and thrashing around.

“Des! I will find you!” he yelled over the screaming, before being knocked out by a man in a gas mask.

“Please! Stop!” I screamed, but my mouth was covered by a gloved hand. I bit down as hard as I could, and his hand let go of the tight grasp over my mouth. I screamed a long, blood curdling shriek before I was knocked out.

“Wake up, little brat,” a mean, low voice whispered in my ear. My eyes opened groggily, revealing a huge man with a short, curly beard. I immediately tried sitting up, but found that I was chained to a silver table.

“What do you want?” I panted, closing my eyes. I tried to seem brave, but behind my closed eyes, tears were pooling. Being kidnapped twice in less than a week was just a little too much for me.
