~Present~

We arrived at the hotel shortly thereafter.

Our taxi driver drove a fairly reasonable speed, but he was also in no hurry. It was two in the afternoon and therefore, people were still at work and most kids were still in school. Their schedule might be different then ours, but we had a week of fall break. Might as well use it for good use instead of staying home and doing absolutely nothing. Besides, why not spend a good week with your friends and discuss everything that is going on at college?
Sounds like a wonderful idea, but none of us had even discussed the topic of how college was like for each of us. It seemed like we were reliving our high school fantasies by acting like children. Maggie and Chelsea continued watching their episodes of Once Upon A Time while Ann and I sat next to the window.
Ontario was extremely different then that of where we lived. There were extremely tall skyscrapers just like those of Washington, and bustling people on the busy street sidewalk.

The taxi skidded to a smooth halt when the light turned red allowing people to cross the road. Some had their heads down texting, others pulled small children along or pushed a carriage that had their baby inside, or others with brief cases passed by quickly while answering a business call on their phone. When the people passed, the streetlight turned green enabling us to keep moving forward. Surprised, I turned my head to look at the others, but they were silent. Ann's head turned to me when she saw me noticing how quiet everyone was being. Even the taxi driver didn't make any point to start a conversation. Lucky for him, all he had to do was drive us to the hotel and not worry about us being loud. I waved at Ann to make sure she didn't think I was mad or upset, but I didn't think she did anyway since she smiled and waved back. Smiling to myself, I stared back out the window while watching the car we were in make shapes in the glass buildings that we passed.

After ten minutes had passed because of continuous stopping for red lights, the driver finally made a left turn taking us straight to our hotel.

"Hey,"
I nudged Maggie who happened to be next to me. "We're almost there."

She just nodded her head upward still engrossed with her episode. Sighing, I look over and notice Chelsea had finished watching her episode while placing her iPad in her bag.

"We're here!"
The driver called back to us with a monotonous tone in his voice. He must be having a bad day or must really hate his job.

"Thanks."
I reach forward and hand him the money he charged us for the ride. Grabbing my bag, I step out of the car before being engulfed with the hotel staff.

"Do you need any help carrying your things?"
One friendly man asked who had already grabbed Ann's bag from the ground.

"Sure,"
Ann shrugged her shoulders while I smiled.

"Yes, that would be very thoughtful of you."

"Well,"
The man gushed slightly, "that is my job."

I chuckled, but didn't say anything when I started to reach for my suitcase from the trunk of the taxi.

"No, no, no, no."
The man hurried before I could reach it. "I'll get it for you. You're our guests. Now, just follow me and I'll take you all to your rooms."

Wow, he was really nice. Who decided to choose this hotel? Oh, wait, yeah, it was me.

"Sean!"

Another member of the staff came waltzing out of the hotel's circular doors.

"This is Sean."
The man who took my suitcase introduced a young man to us.
He was about twenty or a few years older. He had sandy colored hair with light brown eyes. To be honest, he was kind of cute, but I didn't fan girl like the three college girls that walked in a minutes before.
The man that took Ann and my suitcases, I noticed on his name badge, was named Steven. He was older than Sean, I'd say he was about thirty or even twenty eight or nine. I was really bad with ages! Steven had brown hair and hazel eyes, I think. He was taller than me. He was about six foot three and Sean, on the other hand, was just a smidgen taller than me. About five foot ten or eleven.
