Chapter 8

I jolted up awake with my heart pumping, sweat trickling down my face, and shaking uncontrollably. I looked around my room and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

My covers are on the floor with burnt spots all over, my pillows are mysteriously wet, vines were growing along the walls up to the ceiling, and the was a strong breeze going around my room even though my windows are closed.

What the hell happened to my room?

I got up from my bed and made my way towards the door but my legs gave out and I feel on the floor. I looked at my legs and they were glowing. Like, light is glowing from my skin. It slowly crept up, and now my whole body is glowing. I started panicking and thought of the first name that popped up in my head.

"HENRY!" I shouted. Within a few moments, the doors flew open revealing Henry. As soon as he came in, the glowing light went out.

He rushed over by my side and started throwing a thousand questions. "Oh my God Joy! Are you okay? What happened? Why are you on the floor? What happened to your room? Why are yo-"

"Henry!" I said his name a little louder than I expected to, "I don't know what happened. I woke up to all of this." I say getting annoyed.

"I just wanted to make sure your okay. Are you?" He asked as he picked me up. My legs felt like jelly as I was standing, I thought I was going to fall down again. Luckily, I had Henry to support me by holding my arms. When I stood up all the way, I couldn't believe how close we were.

"Yes, I'm fine." I smiled.

Someone knocked on the door and I looked over to see Roses. She just stood there in disbelief as she examined my room.

"Joy...what happened..?" She trailed off.

"Well that's the problem, I don't know. I woke up and found my room like this." I replied.

Roses sighed as she set a tray of food on my dresser. She continued to look and walk around my room.

I heard footsteps approaching. It sounds like whoever it is, they are running. "Someone is coming." I said looking at Henry but he just returned a confused look.

I looked up to see Sam at my door and looked back to Henry.

"How did you hear her coming?" He asked with a shocked face.

"What? You couldn't hear?" I ask crossing my arms.

He mumbled something under his breath and I couldn't hear him.

"What did you say?"

"I said, your powers."

"This is very interesting." Marcus, the King, said rubbing his beard. Henry, Sam, Elliot, Robert, and I was inside the Throne room. Me and Sam was sitting next to each other, Henry was standing beside me, and both Elliot and Robert was leaning on the walls. "That was it?"

"Well....when I fell on the floor, my legs were glowing, then my whole body started glowing." I said looking down at my hands.

"Really? This is quite amazing. Is there anything else you are able to do?"

"I could do this." I lifted my hand and waved it around summoning a butterfly. I blew on it and it flew up in the air, flapping it's beautiful, golden wings. I smiled at my own little magic show.

I looked around and everyone was staring at the butterfly then back down at me. They all watched me in awe.

"J-Joy, when were you able to do that?" Sam asked breaking the silence.
