"We could do this the easy way, or the hard way. Either way, I'm still coming for you Joy." The seriousness in her cold, dull gray eyes told no joke. Including the growls encircling around us from the creeptons, coming on us. "Kill them, and leave her for me."
And that was when all hell broke loose.
A loud roar erupted from the large crowd of the creeptons as they charged for us, but none of us back down. Instead this encouraged us. Looking behind me, I see Eli, Elliot, and Robert completely focused on their targets, ready to strike down. Moving my eyes, I see Henry already looking at me. Golden meets dark blue. His eyes pleads for my safety, and in return, I gave an assuring smile.
Snapping my head, I meet with the unfortunate creeptons, which of some growled in my face. I felt heat igniting through my veins–from the tip of my head down to my toes. The hot sensation traveled to my weapon held tightly in my grip.
Swinging the sword, it easily slashed through the revolting creature. Two more came at me, holding up their weapons, and effortlessly I kicked the first one to the side. Then the other, I sent flying with a gust of air, and not too long, I heard a thud.
Smirking at my victory, I turned back to the first one and stabbed him through the chest. I look into its lifeless eyes as it gurgles out black liquid from its mouth. Twisting the blade in him, his dark holes of eyes became glazed over. Ripping out the sword, it fell at my feet, the black liquid dripping for its mouth and the gaping hole in its chest.
Suddenly, I felt a hard force pushing from my side, and I scream out in pain. The throbbing pain on my side won't subside, making it hard to get up and glare at my attacker.
Immediately, my glare drops down to a look of shock. And there she stood, tall and proud. Her dark hair pulled back in a low bun, long silk dress coming down at her feet. She wore another piece of cloth similar to the dress, but it resembled a cape. This made her pale skin pop out, almost as if her skin was white. Looking down on me, she came up to me with a blank expression, but in the cold gray eyes held disappointment. As if she expected more from me.
Then, her lips tilted upwards. "At last," came her calm and collected voice, "We finally meet Joy Wright."
It was coming. I couldn't stop myself from the words that came tumbling out my mouth. It was as if my instinct finally clicked and my mouth immediately opened. Still on the grass covered ground and clutching my rib, I snickered, "Who wears a dress to a fight anyways?"
She scowls, moving her eyes away from me and looking around us. Glancing in the same direction, I see both Elliot and Eli back to back, fighting off as many creeptons. Finally looking back at me with a blank expression, she crouches down to my height. "This isn't a fight Joy, this is war. After this is finished, you are going down. And you are bringing down your friends with you too." Without giving me a chance to respond, she flicked her wrist, sending me with a gust of cool air few feet away.
I grunted as I landed harshly, feeling the pain increase by the second.
Gripping the hilt of the sword, I lit it up with fire as I manage to stand up. Running up to her, I swing right, but she easily blocks it which was what I was hoping. This gave me the opportunity to quickly stomp on the ground, making a large part of it shoot out from the ground itself. Telma happened to be standing on it, and the sudden force knocked her down.
Quickly, I ran to her, standing over her and became ready to plunge the sword through her beating heart. With swift moves, her legs came from under me, making me lose balance. Never getting a chance to hit the floor, another gust of wind hit me straight on.
As I hit the ground, another round of pain hit me like a ton of bricks. "Argh!!" I couldn't feel my sword in my hand and I look to see it laying too far for me to reach.
