A Captain's Pride

Chapter 2: New Squad

Author's Note: Yes! I finally get to write a new chapter! I'm really excited about this story because it actually has a really cool storyline:)

Shirohi's POV:

I paced back and forth along the huge door to the Head Captain's quarters. Captain Hitsugaya had said to wait until Head Captain Yamamoto called for me.

"It's been like 10 minutes though.." I mumbled to myself. Jeez, has the old man gotten so old that he can't even remember I'm here... 

"Captain Kenshiki you now have permission to enter!" I heard from inside the door. The guards nodded and I pushed open the heavy, red doors. Inside was the Head Captain in the back sitting in his chair, his Zanpakuto by his side. I glanced at the two rows of Captains. On the row to my left was: Captain of Squad 2: Soi Fon, Captain of Squad 4: Retsu Unohana, and Captain of Squad 6: Byakuya Kuchiki. I held back a smile and kept my expression serious.

On the row to my right was: Captain of Squad 7: Saijin Komamura, Captain of Squad 8: Shunsui Kyoraku, Captain Hitsugaya, Captain of Squad 11: Kenpachi Zaraki, Captain of Squad 12: Mayuri Kurotsuchi, and Captain of Squad 13: Jushiro Ukitake.

I bowed. "I am Shirohi Kenshiki. I look forward to working with all of you."

"Captain Kenshiki will be replacing Gin Ichimaru's place in Squad 3. I will be entrusting you, Captain Hitsugaya, to show Captain Kenshiki to her barracks." The Head Captain said, pointing a withered finger at Toshiro.

"Yes, sir."

"Captain Kenshiki tell us a bit about yourself." The Head Captain ordered.

"Yes, sir." I said, standing straight. "I grew up in Rukon District 37, I have an older sister named Tsukika Kenshiki, My Zanpakuto's name is Kurodokukaki and she is a poisonous/ fire type. Um, I guess my favorite things are Miso Soup, music, and the color black. My Dream is..." I paused to glance at Byakuya Kuchiki out of the corner of my eye. I couldn't say that my dream was to finally meet him, that would be embarassing!

"Well, I guess I need a new one because it used to be to become a Captain." And to meet Captain Kuchiki...

"Thank you. If no one has anything to ask Captain Kenshiki, please do so afterwards." The Captain pounded his Zanpakuto against the wooden floor. "I hereby call this Captain's Meeting over!"

I watched as most of the Captain's passed me. Byakuya Kuchiki passed me without a word as I opened my mouth to speak to him. I frowned, I guess it isn't going to be as easy as I thought..

"Don't worry, it isn't very easy to approach Captain Kuchiki." Captain Hitsugaya said as he approached me.

I gasped, I thought I'd only told Rangiku about my goal involving Captain Kuchiki. "How did you-"

He cut off my question with a sigh. "When you passed out on the floor after drinking Sake you kept murmuring: "Oh, Captain Kuchiki, I love you soooo much."

I blushed. "Oh,"

"Anyways, we should head to your barracks." Captain Hitsugaya said, heading out of the room. I tagged along and followed him along the Seireitei. Once we reached the huge doors with 三 on them, Captain Hitsugaya turned to me.

"From here on, your lieutenant will guide you in their ways of the Squad."

I raised an eyebrow. "Lieutenant?" Who was it again..?

Suddenly, a figure flashed stepped on the floor kneeling. "Good Evening, I am Izuru Kira, Lieutenant of Squad 3." It was a man with light, blonde hair with bangs covering his left eye. His voice kind've gave me an aura of....emoness....

I held out my hand. "I am Shirohi Kenshiki, but you may call me whatever you please. From here on I am the Captain of Squad 3." I murmured with a smile.

"Kira, I will leave it to you to guide the Captain around the barracks. See ya." And with that, Toshiro dissapeared.

"Umm, I guess I should introduce you to the squad, Captain Kenshiki." Kira mumbled as he pushed open the huge doors. As the doors squeaked open I was faced with maybe 40 to 50 Soul Reapers.

"Uh, Hi. I'm Shirohi Kenshiki, the new Captain of Squad 3." I smiled and waved only to be met with tons of confused stares.

"Hey," I whispered to Kira. "You're my lieutenant, right? Back me up here!"

Kira nodded. "I would like everyone to welcome her in with open arms." His request was then again met by utter silence. Suddenly, one man stood up.

"May we please see your abilites, Captain Kenshiki?" He proposed, kneeling. I scratched the back of my head nervously, Abilites?

Kira smiled and turned to me. "It's a normal routine for a Captain to show their Squad their abilities when they first join."

"Oh," I mouthed and turned back to the Squad.

"Well, then I shall enlighten you with my abilities." I said as I pulled Kurodokukaki from its sheath on my back. "Eliminate," I whispered. "Kurodakukaki!" I threw the small katana in the air. I watched it spin, seeming like a black circle. I held up my hand catching the huge, black and purple scythe.

I heard a few gasps and murmurs from the crowd of black kimonos.

"Amazing, Captain." Kira gasped as Kurodakukaki.

"Beautiful, isn't she?" I smiled then, my expression turned fierce. "Bankai!" I watched as my Zanpakuto dissolved into black fire,clinging to the surface of my hands. As the toxic smoke cleared, I had black metal gloves decorating my hands.

"Tomoeshaku Kurodokukaki. All bow before her." I whispered with a smirk. "Would move if I were you."

I pointed at the chair that sat in the corner and instantly my toxic fumes consumed it. The Soul Reaper closest to it immediately scooted away.

"My Bankai has the ability to burn and poison any substance I point at. The only downside is, if I do not point with my hands, it will not activate." I explained as Kurodakukaki formed back into its katana form. I put it back in its sheath and smiled and the open-mouthed faces. "Impressed?"

"We officially welcome you to Squad 3, Captain!" The whole crowd kneeled, including Kira.

Finally! Yayz! Haha, anyways this is really fun for me. I mean coming up with my own Zanpakuto and its abilites. Honestly, if I was a Soul Reaper, this would be what I would want my Zanpakuto to be like.
