It's now been a month since me and Braden started dating. Amos still telling me to give up, but I'll give him one more month. I know I'm giving him a lot of time, but this is my first relationship, and I really like him. I've had thoughts about breaking up with him, so hopefully I don't change my mind, and he doesn't take another month to start talking to me. I'm gonna try again to day. To talk to him is all I want right now. If only ha wasn't so mute.

I was stepping of the bus, and stepping into the cafeteria to find my friends. I quickly spotted them as we stand in the same spot every morning. Today Braden was already standing with them, with didn't happen often and his family had a tendency for being late.

I walked up to them and stood next to him. "Hey" I say casually. He looked at the floor and nodded. I sighed, Braden took notice, and looked away frowning. I made wide eyes at Amo, who wasn't so impressed at how he was act towards me. I understand this isn't how normal couples interact, but this was the daily norm for us, and I didn't like it. "So what's up?" I tried again, obviously directed the question at him. He shrugged his shoulders.

The bell rang and we all walked towards first period together. We walked in, being the first few people in the room there wasn't much noise. Amo, Becky and Alyssa started talking to each other, I joined into the conversation. We were all talking when we heard a voice jump into the discussion. It was Braden's. We all looked shocked, and when he noticed that we had all turned to look at him, he blushed and looked down. That had been the first time we had heard him talk in months.

It was shock to all our systems, but before any of us had a chance to say something, the teacher asked for our attention, and class started. Braden didn't speak for any of it, even though during free time the rest of us chatted.

Walking into my WH class, I sat directly behind Destry. Only now she had shaved the sides of her head, and had a quiff just like Tyler Oakleys. It was still the same light bluey green. "Hey" I said, hitting up a conversation with her. She turned around in her seat and looked at me. "Hey, what's up" she replied and smiled. "Nothing much, just trying to get my boyfriend of one month to actually talk to me." I sighed. "What's the matter? Why won't he talk to you?" she asked, confused. "I don't know." Feeling just as confused.

The class went quickly, our teacher was one of those "let me explain as quickly and thoroughly as possible so we all have free time."

It was time to get out of that class and go to lunch. I walked out with Destry, walking quickly to get inside, seeing as we were in a portable. "Wanna sit with me at lunch today?" Destry asked out of the blue. "Umm, no thanks. I'm gonna try again with Braden." I replied sighing. I didn't want to have to deal with him, but I had to. I couldn't give up, not just yet. I looked up at Destry, and she looked kind of sad and... rejected. I was pretty good at reading people, but I wasn't gonna say anything as we entered the building.

I walked quickly to the cafeteria, and sat with our group. Braden wasn't there yet, but Alyssa was. "Hey" I said, right as Amo walked in. "Hey" Alyssa replied and Amo introduced herself. She sat down and Alyssa turned to me asking "What's up." And of course my response was the only thing on my mind. "I'm gonna try to get Braden to talk to me. Ever since we started dating he hasn't been able to even look at me." I looked up at Alyssa and it looked like she had a smirk on her face for a second, so I looked to Amo and she was rolling her eyes and gave me a look telling me I should give up, and like she knew he would act like this. But how would she know? And why would Alyssa be happy he wasn't talking to me. I stood up and said "I'm gonna go get lunch." and walked away.

When I was walking back to my seat after only about a minute, I saw Becky and Braden walking in. I sat down and Braden sat next to me, Becky sat across the table, next to Amo. "Hey guys, what's up?" I asked as soon as they walked up but I looked at Braden instead of both of them. All he did was shrug. I just sighed.

Lunch went by fast, with several attempts to get him to talk, but none worked. But when the school day was ending I got a text from him. He was asking me to walk him to his bus after school. Of course I said I would and we met right outside the cafeteria, where the buses line up, mine was always late but his was always the first one there. When he walked up, he linked our hands together. He hadn't ever done that, but I wasn't about to tell him to stop.

We walked all the way to the front of the line of buses, still holding hands. When we walked up to his bus he pulled onto the side of it, where no one inside the bus could see us. When I was close to the side of the bus, in the shadow of it, he wrapped his arms around my waist. He looked me in the eye, but slowly closed them, and leaned in, closing the space between us. His soft lips pressed against mine, and I closed my eyes, wrapping my arms around his neck. Once he pulled back, I rested my head against his shoulder.
