A/N I'm sorry I abandoned you guys, but here's an extra long chapter just for you that I promised everyone in the comments. (It's extra fluffy)
~Le two months later~
PJ's point of view
Braden is finally comfortable with me, it just... took him a few months. It's Saturday and Braden's coming over with his mom and sister Hailey. We're going to the local lake to go kayaking. In the mean time though I'm playing co-op Portal 2 with Dan and Phil. Since there can only be two people though, we're all taking turns playing whenever one dies. Phil dies a lot.
"Stand over there on that button, Phil." Dan quickly shouted out orders to Phil trying to beat the level in 5 minutes like I had suggested. "Okay. I'm here now what?" Phil questioned, he didn't know what the button did and from his screen you couldn't see the blue levitation ray. "Just stand there." Dan said getting annoyed when he couldn't quite catch the ray and float to the other side. Dan finally jumped from a ledge into the ray and it caught him. Phil was getting bored just sitting there and he started moving his character around. Phil moved P-body a little too much and he stepped off the button for a moment, causing atlas to go hurtling into some deadly toxin. "Phil!" Dan yelled, irritated that Phil stepped off the button. "What?" He still didn't know what the button did. "You standing on that button let me float to the other side." The alarm on my phone rang, signaling 5 minutes had passed and they failed the test. "My turn!" I yell, but right then the doorbell rang.
"It's probably them" I said, and ran down the stairs.
"Hey." Braden said, grabbing my hand and leading me down to their car. We separated and got into the car, but quickly rejoined hands when we were settled. "Hello." I said to Hailey and his mom Shannon. We quickly got to the lake and hopped out of the car. Hailey ordered 2 kayaks and we split up, me and Braden in one and Hailey and Shannon in the other.
The instructor helped Hailey and Shannon into one and then left assuming we understood how to do it from watching him. I stepped into the kayak to sit in the back, the kayak moved slightly and I almost lost balance, but Braden quickly caught me by the waist and slowly helped me into the kayak.
Braden got in front of me and I quickly pulled my hair into a bun, not wanting it to get wet. We both started to use the paddles to push us into the middle of the lake. we made a slow round of the lake. Not many other people were here today, so we pretty much had the whole lake to ourselves.
Of course the lake had a bridge over top of it so that people could easily cross with their cars without having to go around. We had slowly paddled that way, and I was slowly getting the hang of it. Braden had obviously done this before as he was expertly turning the craft in the perfect direction to get where we were going. I probably would cause the kayak to go in a circle.
We slowly got underneath the bridge, it was just me and Braden sitting there. Hailey and Shannon had gone off to a different side of the lake. The slight smell of gasoline filled the air, and you could hear the cars on the bridge overhead. You might think this would be distracting, but when you're staring into the green eyes of your significant other, it's really just calming back round noise.
We sat there for a moment staring at each other when I saw motion on my left side and felt a slight wetness on my side. We both look over and see sat on the surface of the water a white feather duck. It sat there dipping its beak in the water and cleaning its white feathers.
The duck went off onto another part of the lake and we paddled towards the center of the lake. The sun was setting and the sky turned orange, the sun floating on the rippling water. We stopped in the middle of the lake, and Braden laid his head on my lap. I leaned down and kissed him, as the same white feathered duck flew over us.
