Anabell's P.O.V.
Waking up that morning, I could smell something wonderful coming from downstairs. Sitting up, I smacked her head on something hard. That is when I realized it was the ceiling. I had forgotten where I had fallen asleep and then realized that it was Molly's room. Looking over the edge of the bed, I saw that Molly was not there. "She must already be awake." I thought.
Walking down the stairs and into the kitchen, I realized what the amazing smell was. My dad was cooking a breakfast. It consisted of bacon, eggs, pancakes, and cereal. Getting a plate from the cabinet, I loaded her plate with everything. Grabbing a glass of orange juice, I took the food and sat down at the table. As I had thought, Molly was up, along with Michael. I started eating my food as fast as possible because I had remembered that today they get to go shopping for things for her room. My dad's words are what broke her thoughts, "Slow down, Anabell. We have all day. Its only 9 o'clock."
9 o'clock! That has to be a record. I never woke up before 10:30. Most of the time it was close to noon. It depended on the day.
After finishing up breakfast we all went back to our rooms to get ready. Ten minutes later we were out the door and on our way to my old house. I knew that my mom wouldn't be there but Farter would. What a great way to start the day. Arriving at the door, I said they could wait in the car for me but my father protested. "At least take the twins with you to carry things."
So, walking up to the door with the twins in tow, I checked the lock. As I had expected, it was locked. Putting my key in the lock, I opened the door to see a very angry Farter. "What are you doing her? Who are the stupid munchkins?"
"I'm here to pick up my stuff and this is Molly and Michael. I know you know who they are. Just because you don't wish to see them is not my problem. They're here with me."
With that I walked to my old room and started packing my stuff. My mom was turning the room into a spare room so I had to leave my bed and dressers here. That didn't bother me one bit considering I was getting new things. After packing my clothes and other items in a couple of boxes, I handed the twins a light one and took one myself. Bringing it back to the car, I was surprised to see my dad and Farter talking to each other. The trunk was opened and they were chatting like they were old pals. That surprised me considering this was the man my mother left my dad for. I thought he would have something against Farter. Guess not. Putting the boxes in the back, I went to collect the other ones. Walking back into my old room I saw something under the bed. Getting on my hands and knees, I looked under the bed. What I saw brought a memory back to my head.
---------------------------------------------
It was the vacation my family had taken a couple years before the divorce. I was 9 and the twins were only 1. We had gone to Disney Land. While there, I fell in love with this little bear and wouldn't leave until I had it. Finally, my dad gave in and he won the bear for me. I had named it Braxton and brought it everywhere. After a year or two, I lost some interest in it. Of course, it stayed in my room but I just didn't bring it everywhere.
---------------------------------------------
Placing Braxton in the box I took it to the car. Putting it in the back I closed the trunk and told my dad I was ready. Climbing in the passenger seat, I saw my dad say goodbye to Farter and get in. He started the car and was driving away when I asked, "What were you talking to Carter about, dad?"
"He came out and we started talking about you. He told me all the things you have accomplished and your grades and things like that. Although, I got the feeling that he was happy to be rid of you."
