Charlie's P.O.V.

It has been a week since Anabell had come home from the hospital and she wasn't getting any better. Most of the time she stayed in her room.

She stopped going to school too. I brought her homework home everyday, but she never had the strength to actually do any of it.

Every day after school, Amber, Daniel, and I would come and hang out with her. We mostly watched movies in the theater because Anabell didn't like to move.

I knew she wasn't getting better but it just hurt to admit it. We were all like that. What were we supposed to do though? Its not like we could cure the cancer. If we could, we would be fricken billionaires!

----------------------------------

I was walking down the hall with Amber and we were talking about the geometry test we had just taken. It was the last class of the day, so we were free to take as much time as we wanted. I didn't mind.

"So how hard did you think that test was?" I asked.

"Well the beginning was easy but the story problems were a little hard," she replied.

"Same. I couldn't figure out the last question but I am pretty sure I got the bonus."

"Oh, I thought the bonus was--" she cut off mid sentence, staring straight down the hall.

I looked to see why she had stopped talking and let me tell you, what I saw I was not expecting.

Lucas, her boyfriend, was standing in the far corner of the hall kissing another girl. I think they were trying to be out of sight, but it was not working at all.

All of the sudden, Amber ran across the hall screaming, "Lucas James Gabriel, what the hell do you think you are doing."

That is when the two broke apart and with a guilty but slightly pleased look on his face, Lucas replied, "Hi Amber."

I followed Amber down the hall to here their conversation and to be there for support because I knew some real shit was about to go down.

"Hi Amber? HI AMBER! That is all you have to say after kissing someone that isn't your girlfriend," she angrily spat at his face.

By this time the other girl he had locked lips with was jogging down the hall, blushing crimson. She was out of sight in seconds. I had caught up to Amber now, but I stood behind so I wasn't intruding.

He said more quietly, "I'm sorry."

"Are you really?" Amber wasn't yelling anymore but you could hear that she was beyond pissed. "If you were really sorry, you wouldn't have done it. Instead of apologizing, why don't you explain to me why you did it. Am I not good enough for you. Did I ruin your little reputation? Or did you plan on me not catching you and just cheat on me?"

"You know what Amber, I am tired of you. I hate the fact that you ignored me. We went on one date and then you pretty much ignored me! You were to caught up in your problems and this dude," he said pointing at me.

"Don't blame this on me! MY BEST FRIEND HAS LEUKEMIA AND YOU WANT ME TO LEAVE HER AND BE ALL CLINGY TO YOU!!!!! I guarantee you that if Daniel was that sick, you would drop everything for him too. And you know what's funny, Anabell is sick and Daniel and her still find time to hang out. All you had to do was ask! You have no right to say I ignored you either. I texted you every day, saying hi or what's up, but you never replied. NEVER! I said hi to you at school every day and good-bye after school got done. And all I get in return is finding you making out with some chick. You are so stupid! If you wanted to break up that bad maybe you should have just said so."
