Charlie's P.O.V.

I am a twin. This is not what I came here for. If my mom hadn't lost her stupid job, I would still be at home. MY REAL HOME! The place I grew up. Now I come back to my mom's hometown and what do I get. A fricken twin. Don't get me wrong, she's amazing, but its so new. I've started school with her and that get's a little weird. Most people believe we are twins but are thrown off by the change of last name.

Now Amber. I've been staying at her house for about a week. She's cool. In some way I think she's cute. To bad she has a boyfriend. And what would Anabell think. Me dating her best friend. Awkward!

--------------------------------------------------------------

Anabell's P.O.V.

It has been a week since I first found out I was a twin. We were all walking in the halls together. It was the end of the day and I was begging Charlie to come to my house.

"Come on, Charlie. It has been over 15 years since I have seen you and I want to spend more time with you. And my dad wants to see you. I mean really see you. A few days ago he only got to tell us what happened. He never got to really get to know you," I begged.

Charlie replied, "No, it will be all awkward!"

"Trust me, he really wants to see you," I answered. "Please, for me."

I used my little puppy face because I had figured out that Charlie couldn't say no to it.

Anger flashed across Charlie's face. "Fine!"

Walking out of the building, I said goodbye to Daniel and started walking towards Charlie's car. He had a nice Mercedes, like our dad's, only it was blue instead of black. On the ride home, I was remembering the first day Charlie showed up at school. We were really close to each other and Daniel got all defensive and started asking questions. When he finally calmed down, I was able to explain he was my twin and that is when Daniel noticed the resemblence. I had to tell Daniel the whole story but afterward, Charlie and him became friends. Oh, the joys of protective boyfriends.

When we finally reached the house, Charlie was shaking everywhere. I sensed how nervous he was and said, "I promise you will be fine. If he doesn't want to see you, we force him to. But trust me, that won't happen."

Charlie just shook his head, afraid if he answered that nothing would come out. We walked up the steps and into the house.

"Dad, I'm home," I yelled.

"Hey, sweetie," he said walking out of the kitchen. " I see you bought a new friend. Wait--"

He stopped mid-sentence and  finally looked behind me and saw who was standing right there in his own living room.

"Charlie?!?!?!"

Charlie smiled at him and said, "Hi, dad."

"What are you doing here?" our dad said.

"Anabell dragged me over here. She said you wanted to talk."

Just then, our dad walked over and gave Charlie a hug. Finding it a little awkward, Charlie cautiously hugged him back.

"I really did want to talk to you. After what happened a few days ago, I was afraid you wouldn't want to see me," Mr. Phillips said.

"Well, I did," was Charlie's reply.

Finally stepping away from Charlie, our dad looked between the two of us. "You two look so much alike. It feels weird to see you both together again."

We just looked at our dad and smiled. "Hey I know your staying at the Philmores but you can stay here if you want. Then I can see you more often and we have a lot of room in this house. You can have your own room too," Mr. Phillips said.

Charlie looked between our dad and me. "What about my mom," he asked.

He was quite for a while and then replied, "If she is comfortable staying here, she is always welcome."

This came as a shock to both Charlie and me. But I guess they could have been friends, even if they weren't in love.

"Ok, I'll think about it and tell her you said that," Charlie said.

Mr. Phillips smiled at us and took out a piece of paper. He wrote down his phone number and handed it to Charlie. After that, we all walked into the living room and caught up for the 15 years we spent separated from each other.

-------------------------------------------

A few hours later, Charlie and I were driving to Amber's house. I had decided to spend the night so Charlie had someone to support him while he asked our mom if he could stay with our dad. We were nervous about asking because we didn't know how Tammy would react. She didn't even know that Charlie went to our dad's house.

Walking into the house, we found Tammy sitting on the couch.

"Where is everyone," I asked.

Tammy replied, "Amber and her mom went to the store to get a few things."

"Hey mom, can we talk to you," Charlie said.

"Sure honey. What's up?"

"Um... promise you won't get mad," he asked cautiously.

She gave him a questioning but stern look. "What did you do?"

"I went to go see dad today," he said.

"YOU DID WHAT!" She had almost jumped off the couch when she heard those words come out of his mouth.

"Don't yell at me. I never really knew my dad. And did you really think you could keep me away from him now that we live so close. You were the one that brought us here."

"I guess not. I just wish you would have told me first. What happened?"

"Ok, well that's what we wanted to talk to you about. I got there and he instantly wanted to catch up. We talked and all that 'I just got to know my dad' kind of thing. Well he said he wanted to see me more often so he told me that I should come live with him. Well I said what about you and he told me your welcome to come too. I know its weird and stuff but their house is huge. We will get our own rooms and I get to see him more often. And you can finally get back on your feet. I know you never fell in love with him but you guys were friends in college, right. Please mom, I just met him and I want to really get to know my dad."

She thought it over for a while. Tammy looked at Charlie's pleading face. Then at my pleading face and knew that she had to say yes.

"I guess for a little while, we can see how it will go. If I think it won't work, we will leave that house.  Alright?"

"Oh my gosh mom, I love you so much. Here call him and say yes," Charlie said handing our mother the number our dad had given him. Then he and I engulfed our mother in a hug.

Right then, Amber and Mrs. Philmore walked through the door. We all headed up to Amber's room while Mrs. Philmore sat on the couch next to Tammy.

Tammy's P.O.V.

"What's this," Mrs. Philmore asked, picking up the phone number I had laid on the coffee table.

"Mr. Phillips number. Apparently Charlie went to go see him today and he asked if we would come live with him. Charlie practically begged me and I said yes. But I'm too afraid to ask him. Not counting a couple of days ago, it has been 15 years."

Mrs. Philmore picked up the home phone and handed both the paper and phone to me. "Tell him that you want to take his offer. What's the worst that could happen."

With that she walked away leaving me to decide what to do. Thinking back to my kids' pleading faces, I dialed the number that was on the paper.

This was going to be quite the conversation!
