What’s Done is Done
The next morning the girls are making breakfast, laughing, and carrying on. I see them, sitting there, in my kitchen. I haven’t even had my coffee and I hear a knock at the door. I walk to the door since the girls are ignoring it. I never look through the peep hole, I guess I should start. It might be helpful in the future. I open the door and Red, Michael and Eddie are standing there.
“What do you want? Soup kitchen is closed.” Eddie laughs at my joke. He thinks I’m funny.
“Ha-ha funny.” Red mocks.
“Morning sunshine.” Michael says. “Can we come in?”
“Sure I guess.” They walk in and see the girls and give them hugs. “Is anyone else with you?” I look out into the hall.
“No, Dakota had to meet his fiancé.” Red says stuffing his face with food.
“And Harry is being, Harry.” Michael rolls his eyes.
“Lovely.” I say more to myself.
“Would you like to stay for breakfast?” Piper says with flirty eyes on Michael.
Excuse me while I gag!
“We would love to.” He says back, winking at her.
We all sit down to breakfast. I just have coffee.
“Harry was talking about you last night. “ Eddie raises his head from his plate making eye contact with me.
“Good or bad?’’ I really don’t care either way.
“Good, he wanted you to say good bye to him.” Ok maybe I do care.
“Cry baby. May I remind you he was getting very cozy with another girl last night? I’m sorry, 3 girls last night.” I scoff.
“He does really miss you. He talks about you all of the time.” Michael says very seriously. I will not have them playing match maker!
“I think he might ask you to take him back.” Red finally adds. I just stare at my cup of coffee.
“What happened that made you two break up?” Pipers finally asked. I have always told them the same thing. But neither Piper, Camille nor any of the guys believed me. I would have thought he would have made up some crap to the guys.
“We didn’t like the long distance relationship.” I set down my cup and look at the all of them looking back at me waiting for a true answer.
“I don’t buy that.” Red says.
“Ok there is something you aren’t sharing.” Michael adds. I look at Red and say, “Do you know?”
“Know what?” He says. He is so guilty.
“Please don’t say anything.” I look down at my hands in my lap; I can’t even look at them. Fear of the, judging me, or not believing me, all of these thoughts floating through my head.
“We promise” The girls say.
“We promise?” The guys say. It comes out more of a question rather then a statement. I eyeball the three suspiciously. They huff and shout, “We promise!”
“At Harry’s party… I can’t do this!” I stand up and walk to my room and lock the door.
I hear a knock on my door and a voice says, ”Honey what’s wrong?” It’s Piper.
“What can’t you do?” Camille says. I open the door and tears are coming down my face.
“He cheated on me. Tried to break up with me, then when I confronted him. He lied about it.” I cry. I end up sitting on the floor. Camille and Piper sit next to me with their arms wrapped around me.
