A Town Full of Memories
“Memories of our lives, of our works and our deeds will continue in others.”- Rosa Parks.
“Hey gorgeous!” He says and scares me. By he, I mean the devil himself, Greg.
“What do you want? How did you find me?” I say to the annoying scum sitting across from me.
“I listened to my heart baby.” He pats his heart and I roll my eyes.
“Don’t call me that and go away.” I say.
“Why sugar, I know you miss me.” Greg says and he winks at me.
“No I don’t.” Harry walks up and says to Greg. “Hey, I think you’re in my seat.”
“Oh is this your seat?” Greg sneers and rolls his eyes.
“Yeah. Can you please get up?” Harry smiles politely, unaware who this is.
“Who do you think you are?” Greg raises his voice to Harry.
“Calm down. No need for this.” Harry laughs. I’m just sitting there nervously. This is not good.
“Where are you from Canada? Your accent is funny.” Greg laughs at his own joke.
“Really Canada? No, I’m British.” Harry looks annoyed now. He crosses his arms and taps his foot on the ground; he looks hot when he is pissed.
“Huh? Never mind,” He turns his attention back to me. “Come on cupcake lets go. I miss you.” Greg smiles at me and tries to take my hand. I pull away from him.
“Greg. Stop! I would like you to meet my boyfriend, Harry. Harry this is my ex Greg.” I glare at the imbecile across from me.
“This is the Neanderthal, you were telling me about?” Harry raises eyebrows at Greg.
“Yep this is him.” I groan. “Bye Greg. Go home.” I point to the exit.
“Don’t miss me to hard!” Greg stands up and blows me a kiss, which I roll my eyes to.
I run over to Pastor Murphy and give him a hug.
“Bye pastor see you Saturday.”
“You better be at the dance on Friday.” He chuckles, shaking Harry’s hand.
“I’ll try.” I smile. I take Harry’s hand and we walk out the door. We go around to some shops and we make a stop at the church.
“Why are we at a church?” He questions.
“This is my church I have to see my friend. She works in the office and is always here hiding in the back. “I laugh. We walk in and Harry sits in one of the pews. I walk over to the piano.
“Are you sure she’s here?” He asks.
“Yes I’m sure just wait.” I say.
Her favorite song was “Next To Me“. She would play and I would sing.
I sit at the piano and start. I play those ivory keys and start to sing.
“You wont find him drinking at the table. For money, dice, for power or out of greed….”
I hear the door open and she jumps out from behind the door. She yells, “NO FREAKIN WAY!” She runs over to the piano, stands on top of it and she slides over the side, her butt hits the keys and you hear “Bang!!” She jumps on top of me and I fall backwards off my chair. Can you imagine? She helps me back up.
