Why do we hide 

From ourselves?

Where honesty should prevail

We wear a mask!

What are we trying to hide?

From others?

Tears?

Sorrow?

Shame?

Or emotions?

Have we become this insensitive

As to hide our emotions,

Feelings?These

That constitute our lives

Add color and meaning.

Why do we wear this mask?

This mask that hides emotion.

This mask that hides scars.

This mask above all hides you!

It is the fear in you.
