The Lost Battle

When in school
They yelled at you.
To study
To study
And study.

When you entered college
They stared with such coldness
That you froze on the spot.
Helplessly wandering
Within your brain,
To figure out what you were doing.

And later,
They saw you sit
Outside your house for
A day or two longer
And rolled their eyes at you
Making you feel uncomfortable
In the most comfortable space.

They whispered among themselves
About what you did with your time.
Ssshhh they said when
They saw you stare back.
Even your parents left your side.
Your world has smashed.

What they never realised,
Is that
They are who who taught you.
Not to learn,but to study
Not to think, but just throw up
Onto the white sheets of paper
That determined your value,
Your price tag.
A tag that they said would tag along
Until you die.
But they turned a blind eye
To the artist in you,
The writer
The master
And the creator.
But most of all,your soul.

It is they who killed your soul!
They,who judged
Without an inhibition.
They,who were not eligible
Not even good enough to judge themselves.
But you fell for it.
