The shrill screech of my phone alarm wakes me with a jolt. Fumbling around in bed, I reach out and stop the alarm, and then get up and dressed. I'm just putting on mascara when there is a short knock on my door.
Leanne's head peeps through.
"Amy, there's a cou- well, some people who would like to meet you - they're looking at adoption!" She says, nodding enthusiastically. I give a fake smile, knowing that Leanne knows that they won't be impressed by my lack of speech.
"I'll tell them to come through!"

I run a brush through my knotty hair and realise that I haven't made my bed. I start towards it but give up. To hell with it. It's not like they're going to adopt me.

My door opens and Leanne is there in the hallway, gesturing for the pair behind her to enter my room. They walk into the light, and I freeze like a deer caught in headlights; like a dog having been caught eating the post; like any normal human being would have in these circumstances. Because there, in my bedroom, is Dan Howell and Phil Lester.

"Hello," says Phil happily. My mouth drops open in shock. Phil Lester said hello to me?! I am internally screaming, and I just want to exclaim a string of random capital letters like I do on Twitter.
"Uh...?" I stammer aimlessly.

"She watches our videos" Dan mutters under his breath to Phil, a small smirk etching across his face, creating the infamous dimple we all love. I see his eyes dart around me room, taking in the sights, well, fangirl-ism. Leanne sighs and steps forward. "Amy doesn't speak much, so you'll have to ignore her."
"Why would we ignore her? She seems a lovely girl!" protests Phil, and I smile in shock. My biggest idol called me a LOVELY GIRL!

"So, I see you like Fall Out Boy," Dan says, gazing at my posters scattered over my pale blue wall. Mainly Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, and Dan and Phil. I nod, well aware of the red creeping up my neck.
"And you play piano!" Dan exclaims happily, as he notices my electric piano tucked in the corner. It was a birthday gift from my parents, the summer before they died. I self taught myself from YouTube, and can play many songs.

"Yes, well, we have to see the other children, so come on, follow me!" Leanne clip-clops out of the room and the pair follow, Phil turning around and waving goodbye as he leaves.

I have no chance. Nobody wants to adopt me, not with my state of mind. I don't speak. The grief tore into me mentally, and I have only had conversations with one person: Tabby. Wait. TABBY. I have to tell her!
