It's currently the Christmas Break here, and nine hours since Phil announced that him and Dan were going out to the 870,000 people watching live on YouNow. I open Twitter and what a surprise. #PhanIsReal is the Number 1 trending hashtag worldwide. Scrolling through the tweets with that hashtag, some are so genuine, I can't help but smile.
'I'm not a crazy Phan shipper, but I'm so happy that they have announced that they're dating. I would like to apologise for the people who intruded yours and Amy's privacy demanding for information. Can't wait for the 2020 wedding! ;)'
Nice reference. I favourite the tweet, and then I get a notification saying I have an email. It's from Zoë.
Congratulations on one million subbies! You'll be overtaking me soon, eh? Xxx
One million? I rush over to my laptop and refresh my page. And Zoë isn't lying. Right there, on my actual account, is just over one million subscribers.
"Dan? Phil?" I call. "You need to see this, now!"
Together, they enter my room, an excited smirk on Dan's face. I point to my laptop and open and close my mouth, making silent gibberish noises.
"One million," I manage to whisper. My fathers gasp and rush forward to embrace me in a celebratory hug.
"We were waiting for you to find out before we told you!" Dan says, his voice slightly muffled in Phil's t-shirt. And we stay that way, until I go into the kitchen and I see the cake. I laugh as I read what's on it.
"You didn't need to write one mill on it!" I say, running over to give them a big bear hug.
"Yeah, well, I got a confused look from the woman at the cashier when I asked if they sold one million candles." Dan responds and I roll my eyes, chuckling. We cut open the cake and I take a bite and my senses overwhelm with delicious cake taste - one that I haven't experienced since before my parents died. Dan and Phil are my new parents, the best ones a girl could wish for. I watch Phil and Dan embrace in a hug and kiss, and for once, I don't feel embarrassed; I feel proud.
