Emily's head snaps up in shock. "I knew I knew you from somewhere! It's Amy Howell from YouTube! Oh my God!" She's going to carry on, but Mrs. Weller shuts her up, thank God.
I just want to fall into a huge black hole. Grimacing, I pretend to reach into my bag and grab my pencil case. Every eye in the classroom is focused completely on me, and I curse my parents in my mind for taking me here. "Okay class, carry on." Mrs Weller says, and attention slowly drifts to the lesson, and thankfully away from me.I shrink down in my seat, and realise that Emily has a pixel people pencil case. And a Dan and Phil bag. Oh. I think in realisation. People aren't going to want to be my friend here. They're just going to want to meet Dan and Phil personally, and get them to sign their Amazing Book is Not on Fire. I hide behind my bag, and try to ignore Emily staring at me in admiration, trying to catch my eye.

The lesson ends, and I fish around my pockets for my timetable. Music was the last lesson of the day. "Hey, are you walking home?" Emily asks, running after me. "It's just.. Er.. I have nobody to talk with whenever I head home. You don't have to come round mine, just say goodbye at my house and go home... I mean... It's you choice," Emily trails off in embarrassment and I genuinely feel so bad for her that I say:
"Yeah, sure!"Emily squeals with excitement, and we head out the lesson together. Heading through the corridors, I know that I will never know the school, it's endless mazes of corridors and smart children. Every now and then, I see people pointing at me and whispering. I even catch snatches of conversation as I go by:
"Isn't that Dan and Phil's daughter?"
"Maybe she could get them to follow me on Twitter!"
"Has she seen them making out?""Ignore the peasants," Emily blurts out, and I laugh a little too loudly, causing a grin to snake itself onto Emily's face, a dimple on her right cheek popping up. We head out the gates and separate ourselves from the crowds of people.
"So, what are your hobbies?" I ask.
"Erm, I just, you know, sit... On the computer... Waiting for Dan and Phil to upload..." She mutters. "I do also sing. Nowhere as near as good as you, but yeah." I blush at the statement. "Thank you!"
We walk in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, and then I get a text from Dan. Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I read:Dan 🦁📱: did you have a good day? X
Fingers flying over they keyboard, I compose a reply:
Amy 👑: it was ok I guess. Be home in ten :)
Emily smiles at me, and we carry on walking, our feet synchronised. The sun is out, and birds soar above us in the clear blue sky, even though it's mid October. "This is my stop," I say.
"Oh,er, I'll see you tomorrow then?" Emily asks, and I nod.
"I'll probably be at school tomorrow. It depends on what my Dads think." Then I get an idea, sparked from Emily's face when I mention Dan and Phil.
"Do you have any merch on you that you want them to sign?" I ask, and Emily shrieks and dives into her bag, pulling out her copy of The Amazing Book is Not on Fire, and a Pixel Phan pencil case. "I'll bring you them tomorrow then!" I say, and Emily grins in happiness.
"Bye!"
I think I've found a friend, one for good. I smile to myself, hugging her copy of TABINOF.A/N: Emily is actually based off my amazing Internet Friend, cuddlelester !! You need to go read her fanfiction and follow her, it's amazing!
