Kat's POV

Annie and I walk to our next class together. Yes, I am finally back to school. My friends have still been going to school while I wasn't because you know it. Luckily, I was excused with all the tests I missed but I will be doing all of that this weekend. Not the whole weekend though. Only Saturday.

There are a lot of things coming out right now and it is so stressing. Prom is next week. The school play is next week, two days after prom. The school's special event, Panem Got Talent. It's basically where students who pass the audition get to perform in front of the entire school.

And it just so happens that Drama is our next class.

I've been dreading this subject so much because this is the subject where the auditions for Panem Got Talent will happen. You can go into groups but I decided to sing alone. My group of friends will dance and I'm the only one who will seperate from them. I just don't want to see someone there and I'm guessing that you already know who it is.

Everyone piles into the seats in front of the stage and it takes us five to ten minutes to settle down. The people who go in groups have already signed up so our teacher knows when to call them. I'm talking about Ms. Trinket. The people who go in solos will go first meaning I'm one of the people who will go first.

Ms. Trinket calls a guy and he lazily says a poem he didn't even memorize. I think he doesn't even want to perform at all. I do too but I have to. She calls three more people until my name gets called.

"Katniss Everdeen." she exclaims.

I sigh and get up from my seat to get on the stage. I grab the microphone from her and place it on its stand. I quickly spot my group of friends sitting altogether while they stare at me with grins on their faces. I roll my eyes and begin to sing the lyrics of the song.

Hey

I know what I came to do
And that ain't gonna change
So go ahead and talk your talk
Cause I won't take the bait
I'm over here doing what I like
I'm over here working day and night
And if my real ain't real enough
I'm sorry for you, bae

Let's find a light inside our universe now
Where ain't nobody keep on holding us down
Just come and get it, let them say what they say
Cause I'm about to put them all away

The music starts to play loudly inside the theater and I dance while it's the guy part. I studied Ariana Grande's dance for this in the music video and I even watched other videos to memorize the dance.

Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me

I get the microphone and place it in my hands and continue to dance. Then I place it in front of my mouth to sing.

Focus

I continue dancing since it is still the guy's part and I don't really want to sing with it. That's just kinda weird when I can copy Ariana Grande's voice so well.

F-f-focus on me

I get ready to sing my part of the song again. I stop dancing to place the microphone in front of my mouth.

Focus on me

Dancing makes me really happy and it calms my nerves especially when I am performing.

Focus on me, f-f-focus on me

I stop for the last part of the chorus and put both of my feet apart from one another.

Focus on me

I can tell you're curious
It's written on your lips
Ain't no need to hold it back
Go 'head and talk your shit
I know you're hoping that I'll react
I know you're hoping I'm looking back
But if my real ain't real enough
Then I don't know what is

Let's find a light inside our universe now
Where ain't nobody keep on holding us down
Just come and get it, let them say what they say
Cause I'm about to put them all away

I quickly place the microphone back on its stand and start to dance. This time, I don't sing the light parts anymore. I just let the guy from the speakers sing the chorus while I dance.

Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me, f-f-focus on me

I don't bother to remove the microphone from is stand anymore. I just place my hands on it and begin to sing again.

1, 2, 3, c'mon girls
You're gonna like it
Come on, now, now

Let's find a light inside our universe now
Where ain't nobody keep on holding us down
Just come and get it, let them say what they say
Cause I'm about to put them all away

For the last time, I step away from the microphone and dance the last parts of the song.

Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me, f-f-focus on me

I am now smiling. It's rare for me to smile these days because of all the stress I am currently experiencing.

Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me, f-f-focus on me
Focus on me, f-f-focus on me

At the last beat of the song, I step back and turn my head back then I turn back around and do a simple hair flip. At first, when the performance is over, everyone stays quiet. I immediately think that I did really bad.

The next second, everyone stood up and starts to clap their hands really loud. I smile because I know that I did really well until I realize that if I did then I'm gonna have to perform in front of the entire school. Oh no.
My eyes widen as Ms. Trinket struts her way over to me and hugs me tight. I fake a smile as I hug her back.

She gets the microphone and begins to speak about how I did very well. While she's speaking, everyone quietly takes their seat until she finishes off her speech.

"She is definitely performing in front of the whole school!" she exclaims.

Everyone starts to cheer and go crazy. I mentally sigh to myself. Why the hell would I do really good when I don't even want to perform? Ugh this is just so frustrating. I quietly go back to my seat as the auditions continue.

---

The auditions are now over. My group of friends actually did really good, if I say so myself. The list of the performances will be up at Lunch time so we can go check it. I sigh again, knowing that my name will be there.

For the school play, you will have to sign up if you want to be in it. But I don't so I don't have anything to worry about that. I will just watch people act their heads on the stage or I might even sleep during the play. Sometimes it can get really boring when the characters are also boring.

Then I remember prom. I still don't have a date so I might just miss it. I don't need to go there anyways. The day goes by really fast and the next thing I know, the bel for lunch break has just rang. I groan and walk with Madge to the cafeteria.

But on our way there, we see the group looking at something in the bulletin board.

Hey guys I hope you all liked the chapter.

What is the group looking at? Is it the performances for Panem Got Talent or another one? I hope you can guess what it is.

I am loving Ariana Grande's Focus music video. It is just heaven. She's so pretty! I have also watched her live performance yesterday for Halloween. I love it.

I just got tickets for Mockingjay Part Two! I am also going to the premier! Yes! I can watch it twice. I'm so excited!
