Chapter 8

Katie glared at me all day. I finally snapped on her towards the end of the day. at our lockers. Our last class of the day, Math. Math is the only subjective actually have to think in so I have to tell her to lay off.

" If you stared at your boyfriend instead of me, you would have a way better relationship." I said when Chase walked up.

" you stole my boyfriend, remember?" she said with a scowl.

"What happened to Bryan?" I snapped.

"He is nothing to me. You know you stole Chase from me." She said pointing her finger at me. I moved her finger out of my face when chase stepped in and said.

"I broke up with you because I wanted someone more mature. You are not mature, and your just an evil person." Chase said cooly.

Katie stepped forward and knocked me out of the way to get to Chase. I fell into the lockers. Chase rushed to get to me, but Katie stopped him and said, " We loved each other."

"That wasn't love, what me and Cassie have is love. Now move out of my way so I can check on my girlfriend." Chase was starting to get mad, so I decided to start getting up. When something hard hit my shoulder. It was Katie's foot. I fell in pain. Chase rushed to me. I shook him off. now people are starting to make their way over to our little scene. How freaking embarrassing!

I got up. " I am not going to hit you back because I am more classy than you. So I am going to pick up my books, and get my boyfriend and head to class." I turned around got my books when I hear her stomp on the ground like a 5 year old. I laughed because right when I left I heard Coach Hann say,"What in the world is going on here?" I heard Katie blame the whole thing on me, so I turned and gave my books to Chase. Then I walked back to Katie and said," Yeah it is so MY fault that YOU came to MY locker and started talking crap." I said very sarcastic like.

"Did anyone throw a punch?" Coach said still aggravated.

"More like a kick." I mumbled, but somehow he heard it.

"Miller you didn't..." I didn't say a thing, I just looked at Katie when she gave in.

"No I did. I kicked her in her f*cking shoulder." she said clearly defeated.

Coach looked appalled. "Miller are you okay?" he looked so worried.

" Yeah im fine. I may need some ice though. Just so I am ready for practice Coach." I smirked at Katie.

"Okay well then come with me. You got to the office. We will be there in a second." As I passed Katie I said "Check and Mate" with a grin.

I chuckled all the way down to the ice room when Coach got me a bag of ice he said, "Miller, what happened? And I want the whole story because I know this has been going on more than today."

I blew out of my mouth, defeated. I told him the story. Like the WHOLE story. He was appalled. Of course I didn't tell him about my shoulder, I just said that I got kicked out and smacked by my dad because of Chase. He believed it. He said that I can't stay at Chase's house without my dad's consent.

" But that's where he told me to go." I said not giving up.

"So. If you want to stay here til you graduate; you need to get a note from your Dad saying you can stays there."

That's when I started to cry, Coach has never seen cry before. " but if I go back he will abuse me again." I said through the tears. The very unexpectedly I was in a hug. A HUG! By my Coach. He has never hugged me before.

"How long has he been doing this to you?" he asked very concerned.

"Ever since I was little, when my mom got locked up." I said still crying.

"Well I will help however I can." he said comforting me. Then he SMILED! I smiled back and asked if he could come back to my dad's house with me to get that consent. He said he loud be happy to, and we would leave after practice. I nodded in agreement.

We were on our way to the principles office, and I saw Katie in a chair in there. Waiting for me.

I knocked. He said,"Ah Miss Miller come on in." he was smiling at me.

Me and Coach Hann took a seat in his office. when he said,"Katie could you give us a minute?" She walked out.

Coach told Mr. Hubbard everything that happened. Basically everything I told him on the way down here.

"I agree with you that we would have to have a consent from her Dad in order for her to stay with Chase." I nodded in agreement.

"Since you didn't do anything, and you didn't fight back, you are not suspended like Miss Mathews." he said happily. Okay I don't have to show her up in practice.

"But she will be still attending practice." Scratch that last thought, I have to show her off even harder in practice.

"Yes sir. May I go back to class? I have Math and I wouldn't want to miss it." I smiled at him politely. He nodded and I thanked him.

When I walked out Katie said," I guess you win again."

"You brought this upon yourself." and with that I walked out and headed to class.

Once I opened the door to my classroom, handed my teacher the note, and did like 10 math problems, it was time for the bell. When the bell rang and Chase was walking me to practice, I told him what happened.

He was furious about what happened with Katie. He kept on apologizing about Katie. Once we got to the gym, I gave him a goodbye kiss and headed to the locker room. I got changed, and headed out to lead warmups, when I saw Katie there. Oh this is going to be so much fun.
