Whereever the Wind Takes Me

Chapter 12

After i went to get Chase's parents, we were all in his room when there was a knock on the door.

I answered it when some one punched me in the face."What the heck?!" I screamed.

I look up to see Katie all beatened up from earlier. "That was for almost getting my Chase killed." and moved past me to sit by him on his hospital bed. 

Chase pushed her off and said, "what are you doing here?" he is clearly pissed off right now.

"I came as soon as i heard the news, why are you still with her? She only causes you heartache." she says so innocent like. This makes me cry. So i walk out of the room. i heard chase say,"Cassie wai-" and I slammed the door.

She has no right to come here and judge me like that! She just can't come here and make me feel worse about something I had no control in! I bet she is happy to know that i will be moving. Maybe moving will be good for me, maybe i need to get away for a while. I wonder if they have a volleyball team? i am lost in thought until i feel a hand on my shoulder.

"Coach?" I asked.

"Cassie, would you like to tell me what just happened?"

"No. Yes. I don't know." i said as i slid down a wall and sat down.

"Cassie, I know you a hell of a lot better than that, i know when you need to talk to someone. Now please talk to me." i looked into his pleading eyes.

"Alright..." and i told him the whole entire story. Everything form Katie to my mom to my shoulder. Everything.

"Well Katie is way out of line by doing what she is doing. I appreciate your dedication to the team, but you gotta know when to stop from practicing because you will get hurt."

"I know, i just wanted to get better, so i can get a scholarship as soon as i get out of high school so i could leave as soon as i graduate. i didnt know i would get hurt." i started to cry some more as he pulled me into a hug. My volleyball coach is comforting me, well this is just a weird day.

"I know you didnt know, but right now Chase needs you, and you are leaving soon so you need to spend as much time as you can with him." he smiled at me.

"Yes sir.' i said as i ran off to his room. I went in and i saw his room in a mess, but Katie wasn't in there.

"Chase what happened?"

"Katie had a little temper tantrum. Cassie i am so sorry, i didn't know she was coming. i swear i didn't want her here. Please forgive me."

Instead of replying i kissed him hard and passionately on the lips. hHe wrapped his arms around my waist and my fingers were tangled in his hair. "Cassie, I love you."

"I love me too." i said with humor.

"Way to ruin the moment." He replied.

"i love you too"
