Ward was leaning on my desk in my room, his arms crossed over his chest. I stood in the middle of the room. It was strange, we were having an actual conversation. Not that it wasn't nice but he was my bodyguard, I wasn't sure if this was allowed. But it was nice to talk to someone who could understand how horrible the situation was.
I laid on the bed, trying to relax. As soon as Ward left, I fell back onto the bed and closed my eyes. There was no way that I could get some peace but if my mind was going to be like this twenty-four-seven I would get ill. Surely there were cameras in here, seeing as they knew little about me. It got later in the evening and I could feel my body giving up. I took off my boots and jacket, sleeping in my clothes that I had for today.
As I woke, I felt some of my body parts aching, no doubt from yesterday. I stretched out ignoring the throbbing. I went to stand up but something was underneath my feet. Looking down I saw boxes spread around the room. Opening one of them, I recognised some of my belongings. Smiling, I took out some clothes and decided on what to wear.
Once I felt like I was presentable I walked out of my room. As I stood outside, I had no clue where to go. Was I even supposed to be out of my room? I was hesitating about going anywhere until I heard Ward call me.
"Good to see that you're up. How are you feeling?" He asked as he stood beside me.
"Uh, better than yesterday." I admitted, not wanting to be so negative.
"You got the boxes then?" We started walking down the hall.
"Oh, yeah. Thank you for that. How did you manage to get everything?"
"We just tried to salvage what we could."
A few agents passed us."Ward, is there any information that you can tell me? I mean, I'm really curious so it doesn't help that I'm lost here."
"Coulson said that he'll have a briefing with you alone, so I'm sure you'll find out some things there."
I just nodded.
"You need to get your strength up. Come on, I'll show you to the cafeteria."
The cafeteria was empty. I looked to the clock, seeing that it was late morning. Maybe they had scheduled times for food? I sat down on one of the tables whilst Ward got food for both of us. After a few minutes by myself Skye sat beside me asking how I was doing. She seemed so nice and I was just a stranger. I took advantage of this though, the others were a little intimidating. She too had her own food and started to eat once Ward set a plate down for me. But he started to walk away.
"Where are you going?" I accidentally called out.
"I've got some business to attend to. I'll be back later." He replied before walking out of the room.
Skye looked confused as she continued to eat."Wow. What's up with him?"
"What do you mean?"
"Ward isn't usually that nice. It's a bit weird. Wait, is something going on between you two?"
"No! What makes you think that?"
"The way he looks at you."
I ignored her statement."Is he mean to you guys?"
"No! Of course not. But I can't believe how friendly he is being to a stranger, especially if you were involved with HYDRA."
"I had nothing to do with....what is it called again?"
"Yeah, you're definitely not with them." She swallowed another piece of food."How did you sleep last night?"
"Terribly. I kept having nightmares about those men, I keep thinking that they're coming after me."
