2. Vodka Shots and lemons

- two months later- I walk to the garage, unlocking my bicycle and cycling to the front of my house. I spot a car, which I do not recognize the driver, he has a light stubble and a cap. "Hi Mia, how are you?"

Jeremy. I drop my bike and run towards him. "Jere! Oh my sweet turkeys on Thanksgiving, how are you?!" He smiles. "You got rid of those darn braces! Hooray! Free at last!!"

I put my arms around him and hug him fiercely. "Oh my cheese on a cracker, I have missed you so much! How are you munchkin?" He hugs me back.

"Lets go party tonight, go drinking in a club, or do a karaoke night? You decide."

"Will there be booze? Tom and I just broke up. That piece of dogshit cheated/slept with three other girls, while we were dating. "

"Yeah there will be, oh I am sorry. I really am. I know you loved him. Damn it, now I can't tell you the big news."

I look at him, he lifts his left hand. An engagement ring. "Oh my clogs on a farm in Holland. You are engaged? OH MY GOD. You jerk! Why didn't you tell me before that you were getting married?!"

"For how long have you been dating this girl? Two weeks? "

" I have been dating Janice for eight months now. She asked me. She's a feminist, had I mentioned that before? Oh and I would like you to be the best man. Plus bridesmaid, we are getting married in a month. And you are going to throw me a bachelor party. Please? "

"A month? Yes, yes and yes. What were you thinking? At least introduce me to the poor girl. "

"Oh. You are going to love her. She is so incredibly nice, sweet, smart and funny. She is the best! "

"I am so happy for you. Give me a ride to school? Pretty please? Jeje please? Oh bullocks I don't have a dress. Uhm. So not even maid of honor? I am shocked. Who is the lucky girl?"

"Her younger sister. She is also very nice to people. You will like her I am sure."

I kiss Jeremy on his cheek and hug him. " I am so incredibly excited for you, that you have met the one."

I cycle to school, humming the weddingtunes. When it is the last lesson of the day, I change into my P.E. clothes. "You look good in those shorts."

I turn around, looking at Ryan. He slightly blushes. "It is my eighteenth birthday in ninenty seconds, I will answer your question then."

Ryan looks shocked. I count the seconds and exactly at ninety two seconds. I force myself on him, kissing him, he locks his fingers in my hair. After twenty seconds I pull apart.

He looks flushed. I grow a pair and walk away. I am ready to grow up. Or stop acting like a nerd. I need to get a life, swear off love and die a virgin. Those are my new life goals.

I know they are lame. "Uh. I am at a loss for words. Sorry." He walks into the gym. "Class dismissed, go drink your butts off or celebrate the ending of the day. I am way to tired to teach you dudes. Bye!"

I change into my normal clothes amd cycle back home. Jeremy is still there. He probably has been listening to AOA or something.

Oh, there is another car in the driveway. I don't recognize it. I open my frontdoor and see a girl, probably Janice, sitting next to Jeremy, they are in a deep conversation. She whispers something and then turns her head in my direction. She is blonde with strands of hair coloured blue. She has a heart-shaped face. Her eyes are lapis lazuli blue. Her face lights up when she spots me. "So you must be the famous Mia, Jeremy can't stop talking about you. It is a real pleasure, meeting you. At last. We are going to stay over at Jeremy's parents. But I heard it is your eighteenth birthday today, congratulations!! You, my nephew, Jeremy and me should go celebrate it. We actually sort of planned something. You can bring someone. Anyone particular in mind?"
