Building up his courage, Ivan turned to Yao and said, "Are you going to be presenting an idea?" He mentally cursed, all of the planning and witty conversation starters that he had thought up the night before went down the drain. Yao was quiet for a few moments that seemed like decades to Ivan. Then he said, "I have an idea, but I will not be presenting it." Ivan was confused, if Yao had an idea, why wasn't he presenting it? As if sensing Ivan's confusion, Yao continued, "Actually, my idea includes you, and I need to talk to you about it. Why don't you come stay at my house for a few days, and we can talk about it?"
Ivan felt like fainting. Yao, the nation that he had had a crush on since he first met him, was inviting him to his house! He almost started smiling, before he caught himself. He didn't want to scare Yao away. After all, his smile did seem to have that effect on the other nations. But along with his elation at being invited, Ivan was also scared. He was scared that this was just a cruel joke at his expense. With a start, he realized that Yao was waiting for his answer. With an audible gulp, Ivan replied, "Yes, I would like to go to your house to discuss this more." Yao nodded and said, "All right, then I expect to see you tomorrow." Ivan would have liked to talk to Yao for a while longer, but Germany started the meeting and all the nations quieted.
The meeting seemed to drag on longer than normal. Ivan was restless. He kept stealing glances at Yao when he wasn't looking, and was desperately trying not to zone out. He was excited and worried about going to Yao's house. Ivan would have to wait until tomorrow to find out what Yao wanted to talk about.
I know I'm evil, but to make it up to you, I wrote a really long chapter.
