Letting the Whole World Know

{OK quick author's note! I'm so sorry that I haven't updated this story! To be honest, I've been worrying about how to write this chapter. So here's what I'm going to do. The characters that don't have "official human names" will just be referred to by their "nation name". I tried to Google the names but I got a bunch of different names and I was scared that I would just confuse you guys. So I'm going to be switching back and forth between "human names" and "nation names". Thanks to all of the people that are still reading this story! Sorry I've been lazy and haven't updated 😭. Oh! I'm also going to write Yao's pov! Yay!}

{Yao pov}

     Staring at Ivan was quickly becoming a habit. Now, it wasn't a habit that Yao would like to be rid of anytime soon, but it was still a habit. Yao's sharp eyes quickly noticed that his cute little fiance was biting his lip; one of Ivan's own little habits. Yao quickly tried to focus on what Germany was saying when he heard their names be mentioned. "I believe that China and Russia have an announcement to make," Germany said.

      Quickly glancing at Ivan, Yao noticed that a delicate blush now adorned his face. He quickly sent Ivan a reassuring smile and stood up. Walking with the grace and poise that only many years of practice could achieve, Yao faced the world. A few moments later, and Ivan was at his side, his face even redder now at all of the attention that they were receiving.

      Yao had planned a long and beautiful speech detailing how long he had loved Ivan and how their marriage would positively affect the world. Staring at everyone, Yao's bold and impassioned words faded away until he knew exactly what to say.

He turned to Ivan and gently turned his head so he was looking at him, and only him. Then, still gently holding Ivan, Yao turned to world and said these words, "I love Ivan and I always will. We're getting married."

The world was silent, before an uproar began.
