Surprise!

When Ivan stepped off the plane, he was prepared for many things. But one of the things he wasn't prepared for was a Chinese man to come running towards him and hug him. As surprisingly strong arms wrapped around him, Ivan tried to desperately figure out who this was. After all, Ivan had not had enough time to see his mystery assailant's face. A few minutes later, he was released from his prison. Ivan stumbled back, coughing, and looked up. He was met with Yao's smirking face. Realization struck Ivan, and he felt his legs almost give out. His brain went blank, like a TV when you turn it off. Blushing a bright red that would rival a tomato, Ivan stammered, "H-hello." Yao just smiled, making Ivan blush even more. Yao then did something that Ivan was not expecting. He grabbed his bag and started to walk towards his car, which, in Ivan's distracted state of mind, he had never noticed.

Quickly placing Ivan's bag in the trunk, Yao motioned for Ivan to get in.The entire ride over to Yao's house was in silence, with Ivan still trying to process all that had happened, and Yao,who was looking nervous. Ivan tried to decipher why, but every time he looked at Yao he would blush even more! He was starting to think that his blush was going to become permanent. After an hour long drive, well, Ivan only guessed it was an hour, time always seemed to stop when he was Yao, they arrived.

Nimbly, Yao opened the door to the car, holding open for Ivan, still not saying a word. Ivan was starting to get nervous. What if this all was a practical joke, and the other nations were watching him make a fool out of himself? He didn't have much time to ponder this because Yao motioned for him to enter the house.

Stepping into the house, Ivan carefully removed his shoes. When Yao pointed to a room on the left side of his house, Ivan quickly entered it. What he found was a desk and a few chairs surrounding it. Picking one, Ivan sat in it and waited. He didn't have to wait long, because only a moment later, Yao walked in, looking even more nervous than he had earlier.

Gathering his courage, Ivan said, "What was it that you wanted to talk to me about, Yao?" Yao quickly crossed the room and stood in front him. Ivan was sure that Yao could hear his heart trying to beat out of his chest. Suddenly, Yao got on one knee.

Now, Ivan is a very smart country and he had planned various scenarios in his head. But what he hadn't been expecting was for Yao to say, "Will you marry me, Ivan Braginsky?"

Being the very smart and prepared country that he was, Ivan knew exactly what to do.

He fainted.
