 Chapter Eleven

I wave, seeing my twins and Anila stepping out of the train car closest to me. I'm at the Capital station to pick them up because Anila decided to bring them here for a visit. Before they can start to head my way I see another figure get off of the train. To my surprise, its my doctor, Danielle Mason. She helped me through my last pregnancy and my childbirth. She has long, flowing blonde hair that drapes gracefully over her slender shoulders, matching beautifully against the baby blue suit piece she is wearing. But before I can call out in greeting to anyone, I see Myna let go of her grandmama's hand and run towards me, arms widely outstretched, green dress flapping in the light breeze. I get down on her level, crouching, waiting, my arms reaching to accept her rapidly coming embrace. And then its here, her black whispy hair in my face, her messy, sticky hands clinging to my white sundress. But I don't care. I've missed her so much, I'm just glad to have her here in my arms.

And then she is joined by her brother. I wrap my arms around the both of them, laughing, looking them over. A forest of freckles has erupted over Myna's nose and cheeks. Chase has lost most of his baby fat and is as skinny as his sister now. Their eyes are bright and cheerful, same as always. I hug them both tightly again, shutting out the tears. This scene would be perfect if Cato were here with me. Anila walks up to us after a minute. I stand up and hug her gently whispering, "Thank you. Thank you for bringing them here. It helps... a lot." She smiles at me sympathetically as she whispers back, "Has he done anything? Anything at all to settle the situation?" I shake my head slightly. A firm line, Anila's version of a frown, settles itself on her face. "Well we'll have to do something about that won't we?" Then she lets go of me, letting me be able to greet my doctor and friend. I hear Halozay, he came here with me, lead Anila and the children away to our rooms like I asked him to earlier.

Danielle's face lights up with a smile as I walk over to her, hugging her briefly. Her hazel eyes are full of joy as she greets me. "What are you doing here?" I ask. Danielle laughs saying, "Well I came here to help you that's what! After all you're due in about two and a half months, so you need to be as ready for childbirth as possible. And if that means having the best midwife in District Two coming to the Capital than so be it!" She teases. I laugh along with her before she asks me, "Where's Cato? I'm surprised he isn't here to greet the kids."

"I know," I say. "But he won't be here, he'll see them later." Her voice becomes full of curiosity with a touch of concern. "Oh? Why exactly?" I sigh, "Because he isn't talking to me right now. When I had my check-up at the hospital before we left District Two, one of the doctors there told him that the tests didn't register him as the father of my baby." I say, pointing to my large belly. "And he won't speak to me, he hasn't in a week or so. He said he needed time to think. So I'm pretty sure he didn't believe me when I told him that whatever the doctor said because he refuses to talk to me right now." Danielle frowns, quickly giving me a hug. "Oh Clover," She says, calling me by my childhood name, "I am so sorry. I wish there was something I could do.

Her eyes light up suddenly. "I know! You could just find the doctor who gave Cato the false tests results and have the doctor tell Cato the truth!" I grin, chuckling softly. "Thanks, but I already have a plan." Her face changes, curiosity completly covering it. "Oh? And what are you planning to do exactly?" I say with a secretive smile, "Its a secret. But I'll let you know how it ends." Danielle giggles, a light airy laugh. "Ok. Its a deal."
