"May I present to you, the star of tonight's event, our debutant, my only daughter, Caroline Cortez James" Dad announced as the spotlight concentrated at me at the top of the stairs. I heard a round of applause. Everyone was wearing masks, so I didn't recognize anyone.

I slowly went down the stairs as a slow melody was played. Dad handed me a red rose and reached out his hand. I took it as he pulled me close. We danced for a while then mark appeared with another rose. I took it as we danced and dad left. After about a minute or two, Simon came out with another rose. I again grabbed it as we danced
