Raulson: The Anniversary

"You almost ready, babe?" Sarah yells from the living room while checking her phone.

"Yeah! I'm almost done!" Lily yells back slipping on her red heels to match her red dress that Sarah loves on her.

Lily walks out of the room her and Sarah share and into the living room. Sarah looks up at her and smiles.

"You look absolutely stunning, babe." Sarah says wrapping her arms around the younger woman's waist.

"You don't look too bad yourself, love pants." The brunette says and Sarah smiles and kisses her cheek.

"We better get going or we'll miss our reservations." Sarah says and lets go of Lily's waist and grabs her purse and keys and leads her girlfriend to the car.

The blonde opens and closes the passenger door for the brunette and then gets in on her side. Sarah starts the car and once they are on their way to the restaurant Lily reaches over and holds Sarah's free hand. Sarah looks over at her and smiles nervously.

"Everything ok?" Lily asks concerned.

"Mhm." Sarah says and kisses Lily's knuckles in an attempt to reassure her. Lily remains skeptical but lets it go.

They arrive to the restaurant where they had their first date. The blonde get's out and hurries over to the passenger side and lets Lily out.

"Thank you." She says smiling and Sarah leads her into the restaurant.

"Reservation for two under Paulson." Sarah says once they get inside. The waitress nods.

"Right this way." She says. She leads them to their table in a secluded area that's lit up with candle light and has Lily's favorite flowers in a vase in the center of the table. They sit down and the waitress sets two menus in front of them and leaves.

"Sarah, this is amazing!" Lily exclaims.

"Nothing but the best for you, love. Happy anniversary." Sarah says smiling at her and takes a sip of her wine.

Lily smiles and the waitress comes back and they order. They converse until their food comes and even then the conversation keeps flowing easily.

After they finish eating their main meal, Sarah reaches into her pocket and gets out a small black box. The older woman get's up and kneels in front of Lily. She opens the box and reveals a elegant but simple diamond ring and the brunette gasps.

"Lily we've been dating for three years and have been friends for what seems like forever. I know there is no one I would rather spend the rest of my life with. I've loved you since the first time I set my eyes on you even if I didn't know then, I do now. So, Lily Rabe will you marry me?" Sarah asks looking up at Lily who has tears in her eyes. Instead of answering, Lily bends down and kisses Sarah passionately.

"I take that as a yes." Sarah says chuckling, after they break apart. Lily laughs and nods.

"Yes." Lily says and kisses her again.
