The only reason Josh was waking up before 10 am on a Saturday was because his phone was beeping like crazy. He grabbed the thing and gave an annoyed grunt at the sight of five new messages. It irritated him when people double texted so who was this sending him five texts in a row?

His annoyance melted away upon reading the name Tyjo. He would let it slide just this once.

Tyjo: y0

Tyjo: lol 'y0'

Tyjo: anyways r u awake?

Tyjo: you better not stand me up dun i swear

Tyjo: get ur a$$ up boi

Jishwa: lol im up now. What time did you get up?

Tyjo: 5 like every morning

Jishwa: ew don't talk to me

Tyjo: but we have a date :(

Josh's face grew warm at the word date. He mentioned it before but this is the first time Tyler called their meet-up a date.

Jishwa: it will be a silent date. only the sound of crunching tacos

Tyjo: noo i wanna complain about my week and talk abt myself

Jishwa: im gonna pick you up at 12. Tell me ur adress

Tyjo: it's P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney

Jishwa: bye

Tyjo: hA no come back

Jishwa: it's too early for your shit ty

Tyjo: my ideal bf would deal with my shit 24/7

Jishwa: ,,, was that shade

Tyjo: .................... anyways... I live in ellebrooke on 5th st. challe apartments

Jishwa: wow okay see you

Josh put his phone down and went to shower. He tried to imagine how the date would go while he stood under the warm stream of water. He even practiced how he would greet Tyler when he picked him up from his house. He was nervous, to say the least, and a voice in the back of his mind told him he would somehow mess the whole thing up. He pushed it back, though, stepping out of the shower and smiling in the mirror.

His hair was faded slightly, less vibrant than when it was first done, but that was okay. He fixed his damp locks and wrapped a towel around his waist. Walking out of the bathroom, he noticed a text from Brendon lighting up his phone screen. He'd check it later.

Josh picked out a clean black tee and put a white shirt over it. He threw on his black jeans and sneakers and tried to gauge if he looked good or not. He could never tell and never really cared until now. He recalled a certain person telling him he looked good in anything and hoped they were right.

He turned on the tv and watched a weird sitcom about a talking dog that somehow new how to use a computer until 11:30. He slid his phone in his pocket and hurried down the stairs. Ms. Dun's car keys layed on the kitchen counter and he took them before leaving the house.

The silver BMW, usually cluttered with random items Ms. Dun had used one time or another, was mostly clean and Josh made a mental note to thank his mom later. He hopped in, started the engine and pulled out of the driveway.

Tyler's apartment was located on the outskirts of the city, Josh realized as he neared the adress he was given. The passing houses turned into buildings and he turned onto 5th Street. Challe Apartments was a relatively large building with a parking lot close to full. Josh pulled up to the front of the building and pulled out his phone.
