Annabeth met up with Percy in perfect timing. He walked out of the ocean in time to catch his falling girlfriend. He had rushed to shore after a fish had told him a blonde girl was walking his way. Annabeth started to freak out in his arms. He carried her away from the ocean and tried to make it not suspicious looking. They couldn't have people getting too nosy. Sadly the natives came to help. The three of them were huge, and concerned that Annabeth was writhing on the ground and screaming. Percy barely noticed as he tried to calm his wise girl down.
"I'm here wise girl. We're not there anymore. We're safe. Remember Annie? We're safe now. I'd never leave you. Never. Just calm down Annie. Think of camp. " He held her in his arms as he desperately tried to reassure her. She was calming down, but just barely. She hadn't had one this bad in months.
"What's wrong with her?!?"
"What's happeing?"
"What did you do to her?"
The natives' questions got ignored as Percy kept calming her down. Bella had gotten over to them by now as well. She looked appalled.
"Annabeth calm down. Remember Bob? He got us out of there. We're never going back there. I won't leave you. I'm here wise girl. I'm back and never going away again. Remember when frank got an apple and the rest of the crew got ice cream? "
Annabeth was calming down and not thrashing as much. Percy sensed she would wake up soon. He stopped trying to sooth her and held her in his arms protectively. She woke within a minute and then kissed him. She whispered in Greek asking what had happened. He whispered back that it was a flashback. They had forgotten they had an audience until Jacob coughed.
"Mind explaining to us what just happened?"
Percy looked at Annabeth. He knew the story that they were supposed to tell mortals, but he was wondering if he should tell or she should. She silently told him to. He turned to the natives and Bella.
"We have PTSD. We were captured by terrorists when traveling two years ago and spent a month in captivity. We were rescued by american soldiers before they planned to execute us, but we can't ever be to far apart. Nobody else can calm one of us down. This usually doesn't happen. We've both been clear for months. "
"So this has happened before. Nothing curious about two teens with PTSD. " Jacob said sarcastically. Annabeth made a move to keep Percy on the ground.
"Stop it Jake. That's not nice. " Bella said.
"What can I say Bella? You're a danger magnet." Jacob said.
"What do you mean Jake?"
"First you date a leech, then you make friends with more monsters."
"Watch it wolfy. I'm the only thing keeping Percy from attacking you." Annabeth said. She really was holding Percy back. She had him pinned to the ground while looking threateningly at the natives.
" And we're not monsters. You're more a monster we are."
"What is she talking about Jacob? What's going on?"
"They're not human Bella. Not like you. They're like your bloodsucker friends. But they smell different. How do you know anything about what we are?"
Annabeth laughed. "Her bloodsucking friends aren't very non-suspicious. It took half a day and a phone call to find out what they were. Besides, you gave yourselves away. Nobody's that fast. And you just called Bella's boyfriend a leech, so you have vendetta against him and his family by how you talk. " She looked at the boy to Jacob's right.
"You're Paul right? The big gray one?"
Paul snarled. Jacob and Quil held him back.
"Come with us to the rez. Now. Or we'll make you." Jacob said threateningly.
"I'd like to see you try." Percy said after Annabeth let him up, but he followed Bella. Annabeth elbowed him and grabbed his pen. He flicked his hand toward the water but Annabeth said,
"Don't you dare. "
Bella realized Annabeth could be really really scary if she wanted to be. She walked a bit faster towards the Sam and Emily's house. Annabeth and Percy kept her pace with ease. She thought of calling Edward.
When they all got to the house the whole pack was waiting. Annabeth shook her head at the sight.
"No way. We don't talk to all of you at once. We're not going to hurt anyone unless you make us. But we talk on No Man's Land. With the vampires. Other wise we run, and we come back with hundreds. I wonder what the clave will think of a whole pack of rouge werewolves. I know they won't be happy."
The pack became hostile looking. Sam spoke for them. " What makes you think we'll agree?"
"Because you value you lives. Percy, why don't you call Mrs.O'Leary. I'm sure a hellhound would change their minds. " Percy did a super loud taxi-cab whistle. A few seconds later Mrs. O'Leary bounded out of the woods.
Sam sighed. "Fine. The town itself is No Man's Land. We'll meet at the edge of town in 20 mins. Bella will notify the Cullens."
"Fair deal. We won't attack anyone before or after. We'd just like a peace meeting so we know who and what not human that we shouldn't kill. " She hopped on the giant dog's back. Percy joined her. He glared at them all.
Sam said, " We'll be there. We can't garnishment not attacking, but we will come in peace. Please leave now."
Percy snapped his fingers and manipulated the mist right before they left. With luck, they would be affected by the mist and forget the past hour had happened. They would however, take a trip to the Cullen's place and get somethings sorted out.
