"I'm not going," I said grumpily.
"Come on, Vic. You can't run away from this," Kellin told me, pushing my hair back in an attempt to see my face. I just burrowed farther into the pillows. "Come on, babe. You need to face them."
"No," I replied grumpily. I couldn't do it. I couldn't face them. More importantly, I couldn't leave Kellin alone. I needed to make sure he was safe at all times. He had his last exam today, but that was the only reason he would need to leave the condo.
"Get up," Kellin whispered, kissing my arm and shoulder blade. I just laid there, and finally he gave up. "Whatever. I'm going to run a bath, if you're still here when I get out, you're getting the silent treatment, mister." I groaned and heard his feet pitter patter down the hall.
Once the water was running, I got up and grabbed my phone.
"Fuentes? What do you need?"
"Hey, Chief. I'm feeling really under the weather today," my voice unintentionally raspy from the sleep. "I'm gonna stay home and try and beat this bug."
"No worries. Hope to see you Monday morning," he told me. I hung up and instantly went to the bathroom, dropping my clothes one at a time as I walked. The door was cracked open, so I pushed it the rest of the way. I didn't hesitate before pulling the curtain back and paused briefly just looking at Kellin laying there with his eyes closed.
"Vic, go to work."
"I'm sick," I said. He chuckled and shook his head, opening his eyes and rolling them.
"I can't believe you." He wasn't being serious, he just got fussy about these things. Kellin had this weird peeve where he hated when people skipped out on things unless they physically could not be there.
"Scoot forward," I ordered him. He refused at first, but after a staring contest, he caved and moved. He could never resist my orders.
Kellin shuffled forward, leaving space for me to snuggle in behind him, scooping his body into my arms. I buried my face in his neck and kissed it a few times. The warm water, mixed with cuddling Kellin made this incredible amount of happiness and soothingness fill me up.
"Hey, Vic," he asked, in a gentle sweet voice. I hummed, acknowledging his question. "When was the last time we...?"
I understood what he meant immediately and muttered, "About a week ago?" {week ago, week ago!}
"Oh," he said quietly.
"Why?" I asked, pulling him closer to me.
"I...I was thinking...you know...our anniversary's coming up."
"Yeah. In two days," I answered, assuring him that I hadn't forgotten. On the contrary actually. I had a plan. "Anyways, you want to go for lunch after your class?"
"Sure. Can you pick me up?" Kellin asked shyly.
"Definitely."
"Good," he said, smiling at me. He stood up, leaving me cold and shivering.
"I should get going," he announced. "I need to study before my exam."
"I'll drop you off," I said.
He smiled and nodded. "I would love that."
We were so quiet and being so weird...I didn't know if he was scared to say something or purposely trying to be delicate. I'm sure he'd be back to normal by lunch.
I pulled on some track pants, not bothering to throw on a shirt. He dressed in his 'hobo clothes', meaning he looked absolutely amazing as always. He wore black trackpants and a loose red shirt. That was hardly hobo clothing.
