"Vic!" Jaime yelled. I looked up from my desk, closing the tab with my paperwork on it. "We have a tip about Kellin's school!"

I jumped from my seat and ran over, looking at the note from the secretaries.

"An underground weapon's dealership."

"Mhm, a major contributor to the black market."

"No fucking way. Let's go!" I exclaimed excitedly. Kellin had a class in the morning and in the afternoon, so he usually studied in between. This would finally give me a chance to talk to those bullies. He would probably be back in class by the time I'm out of there, so fat chance that he would see me.

When we were seated, buckled, reported their whereabouts and intentions and were off to the main portion of campus, I realized something that didn't quite add up.

"Hime-time." Jaime grunted, acknowledging my presence. "How do you know where Kellin goes to school?" I asked curiously.

"I talked to him for like an hour at the dinner party. There was a whole group of us. Obviously, we were all curious and he was pretty talkative."

"Yeah," I sighed dreamily. "He goes on for hours at a time about anything."

"Doesn't that get annoying sometimes?" Jaime asked.

I knew he hated how Jessica always nagged him for an hour or so when he got home. Kellin wasn't like that though. In reality, I was the one who had to nag him. So I shook my head.

"Not at all. I love listening to him talk."

"Right on! I really like him, Vic. He's funny, he's not shy, he fits right in. Plus, he's totally fucking in love with you. You guys are actually pretty good for each other."

Needless to say, I was shocked by his statement. I was so worried that they would all hate Kellin. He was a lot different from them, but I guess in a good way. He hums and drinks Caesars where they belt and drink beer. But hey, apparently Jaime loved him. I just hoped he wasn't saying that for my benefit.

I was also astonished at Jaime's maturity. Normally, he would make fun of me, or crack stupid puns, or simply give me the eyebrow wiggle. But no, he gave me a seriously thought through sentiment. I was shocked.

"I think so, too."

"How serious are you guys?" Jaime asked, glancing at me and then back to the street. We didn't have our sirens on, and were in an unmarked car, so the travel was slow.

I wasn't sure how exactly to answer his question, so I went with my gut. "You know how it goes, we're getting there."

"Yeah, of course. It's always going somewhere, I want to know where you are."

"He has a drawer in my apartment," I told him. I decided to leave out the part where he actually has a whole dresser to himself since he LIVES there.

"And a toothbrush in the bathroom?" I nodded. He gave me his signature, dimple-filled smile, and told me to tell him when we move forward. I rolled my eyes and turned up the radio, desperate to drown him out.

In no time, we arrived on scene and talked to campus police, trying to keep a low profile. Luckily, we were detectives, so we had no uniforms on, which helped immensely.

At one point during the conversation, I swore that I saw Kellin walk by. When I glanced a second time, I just saw a long mop of hair bobbing away. It was too long to be Kellin's, sadly.

"Alright, are we ready?" I asked. We had three suspected buildings, all in one area. We were supposed to call in back up right about now, that way we could take all the buildings at once. Jaime and I didn't like having backup though. We were too good of detectives to get badly penalized for it, so we usually rolled as a pair.
