I woke up to a small note card placed on my stomach. I propped myself up on my elbows and naturally pushed my bangs behind my face.

I picked up the note card and read it carefully. It read:

Sunshine,

Meet me in my backyard at 12:00 A.M. tonight. Be there, or be squared. BTW: I'd prefer if you'd be there ;-)

x Cody

I reconized Cody's messy scriptive handwriting. After the incident that happened this afternoon, Cody must have brought me back inside of my room. I smiled and read the time on my iDock.

It was 11:02 P.M. I'd been sleeping for more than four hours!

I ran into the bathroom and took a short, hot shower to freshen up.

After changing into black Nike shorts, a black tanktop with a black hoodie over it, and my Adidas slippers. I grabbed my blanket and cellphone.

I scrunched my hair so that it was naturally curly and applied a little bit of lip gloss. I teased my hair in the front so it would look like I hadn't spent the actually time I did on it.

By the time I was done, It was 11:56. I peeked outside my room to make sure my mother was asleep. When I heard her snoring on the other side of the hallway, I quietly made my way downstairs.

After carefully closing the door behind me, I sprinted into Cody's backyard. I used my cellphone as a light.

It was summer and it got dark late, but when it did, it was super dark!

I could make out Cody's silhouette infront of Alli's. They were roasting marshmallows happily and joking around with each other.

I quietly tip-toed behind Cody and wrapped my hands around his eyes.

"Guess who," I barely whispered.

I could feel him grinning. "I dunno."

"The woman of your dreams," I replied, playfully.

"Cara-Violet Belle?" He asked. I felt my cheeks getting warm.

I looked up and saw Alli winking at me. I sat next to Cody awkwardly, still blushing, while putting my stuff to the side.

He turned around and smiled at me.

"I'm glad you got my message."

"Barely. I'm glad I understood your message." I replied with a playful wink.

"I know, right! Cody's hand writing is a hot mess." Alli said.

Cody gasped, pretending to be offended.

We laughed and I reached for a stick. I pushed a marshmallow inside of it and was about to roast it until Cody took it and placed it beside him.

In his free hand he was holding an already roasted marshmallow. He brought it toward my face and I opened my mouth wide.

I felt the warm marshmallow melt in my mouth and I smiled. Some of the gooey liquid fell down my lip and onto my chin.

Cody brushed it away with his thumb while I looked down and continued munching on the marshmallow, embarrassed.
