"Cody," I giggled, half asleep. "Cody, stop it."

I laughed and rolled over, opening my eyes slowly.

Savvy was sitting on my stomach, panting and looking at me with innocent eyes.

I stood up from my bed and wiped my face.

What I thought was Cody trailing kisses all over my face was really Savannah's wet, puppy ones.

Wait a minute, Cara. You just had a dream about you and Cody kissing.

I sat down criss cross apple sauce and Savy crawled into my lap. I rubbed her stomach soothingly in the dark while checking the time on my iPhone.

It was 5:37 A.M. Monday morning. I had about two hours before Mrs. Simpson would be at my front door in her car and about four hours until I was enjoying a great weekend with Alli and Cody.

"I wish you were Cody." I whispered.

Savvy barked. I laughed and walked into my bathroom.

I took a cool, refreshing shower and changed into a NFL crop top from Delias, light washed denim jean shorts and red Vans. I matched my outfit with a silver anklet and navy with red bracelets.

My hair was pushed back in a high, messy ponytail and I curled my bangs. My bangs fell loosely between my face loosely on either side of my face.

Once I was done, I walked into my room and finished packing my bathroom bag. I sat down criss cross apple sauce beside my luggage.

Before I could take out my cellphone and check the time, I heard a light knock on my door that was open. I looked up and saw my mom holding a basket full of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

"Chocolate chip cookies at 6:00 in the morning?" I asked, smiling.

"Just this once." She grinned, walking into my room. She sat down beside me and put the basket in between us.

"Since when did you get so cool?" I asked playfully, reaching for a cookie.

"Since I began craving them at six in the morning." She said. "Plus, I thought you'd might enjoy these." She added, smiling.

I nodded, reaching for my second cookie. "You should do this more often." I said, munching on a cookie. "You know, because we're bonding." I added.

She nodded and took a bite out of one of the cookies. "And because these cookies are deliciously good."

We both laughed and nodded in agreement together.

"This can't be good for the heart." My mom finally said, after us both finishing almost half of the basket.

"But it's good for the soul." I winked.

We both stood up and she checked the time on her watch. "Shoot, I'm running late." She mumbled.

She looked back up at me and smiled warmly.

"I'm going to miss you." She whispered, pulling me in for a hug.

"I'll miss you too, mom." I genuinely meant it this time.

She gave me a kiss on my cheek and pulled back.
