Chapter 6:
We've been touring the White House for the past hour, and I'm gonna admit that I'm extremely bored. I've met some people who worked here, like Ethan's fellow body guards who were also disguised as students. Turned out, Ethan was actually the youngest person to work in this place.
"So what do we do now?" we were now walking on the hallway where my room was, somehow I didn't feel tired at all and I really didn't have anything else to do here.
He shrugs "I don't know, what do you wanna do?" I shrug and let out a loud sigh. In moments like this, Melissa and I would always talk about random stuff.
"I know where to take you" he gives me a smirk and takes my hand, leading me to the elevator.
"Where are we going?" I chuckle as we stopped on front of a big door, probably bigger than mine. He opens it revealing a big room filled with book shelves and of course, books.
I smiled as the smell of books hit my nose, I've always loved the sweet essence as the books go older giving it more value.
Ethan closes the door behind us.
"Wait here" he winks at me as I sat on one of the couches, waiting for him to come back. I lean back, feeling the softness of the couch.
Ethan comes back holding two books. One was Carrie by Stephen King and the other one was Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare.
I raise an eyebrow at him "How'd you know I love these books?" he sits beside me, leaving me quite disappointed with the fact the he didn't scoot close to me. Gah! What was happening to me? There was an awkward gap between us and somehow, I'm having the urge to pull him closer to me.
I mentally blocked that thought in my mind as he hands me the two books, it was actually quite bigger than the ones back at school making it quite hard for me to get it.
I decided to read Romeo and Juliet, since I was in the mood for some romance. What? Don't judge me.
"So, how'd you know that I loved these books?" he lets out a chuckle.
"Well, I've been hired to be your 'secret' bodyguard for two years and in those two years I have seen you read these books in the library everyday after school while you wait for Jeremy" I look at him with my mouth open.
"You are a creepy guy, you know that?" I lightly hit his arm as I reread one of my favorite classics.
"Why do you like that book?" Ethan interrupts me in my Romeo and Juliet fantasy, somehow I managed to imagine that I was Juliet and he was Romeo. I mentally slap myself for thinking that.
I gasp touching my chest, giving him a fake hurt expression. "This happens to be a wonderful play with a wonderful story"
"With a terrible plot" he finished
"How could you say that?" I glare at him and he looks at me amused written all over his face.
"First of all, they're like what? 13! If I were them, I wouldn't get married at that age! Specially when they've only known each other for less than a week" I roll my eyes at him, typical boy.
"It shows how strong love can be, I mean they died for each other!" he rolled his eyes. I can't believe of all people, I'd be arguing about Romeo and Juliet with Ethan Reed.
It silence him for a second "I'm sure you would find a girl some day whom you would die for, whom you would sacrifice everything for, even if everyone in the world is against it" he looks at me for a long time. His dark green eyes, become lighter showing some black flakes.
