Chapter 4: Quidditch

Saturday

"ITS QUIDDITCH TRYOUTS TODAY!" Angelina sang.

"Ang. Calm down." I say heading to the bathroom to get changed.

I come out wearing black sweatpants and a grey sweatshirt with my hair in a messy bun.

"Really. A.J. You're not even trying to impress Fred." Ang said looking at my outfit.

"Who said I was trying too?" I respond.

"Oh please it's obvious you like him. We're best friends. We see things other people don't." Katie said.

"What ever." I roll my eyes. Once Angelina and Katie get changed we head down to the great hall to eat. We sit down to eat and I take a seat next to Ginny.

"Hey sis." I say slinging my arm over her shoulder.

"Hey sis." She smiles and returns the gesture.

I've known Ginny and the weasleys forever. So they are like my family with Ginny as my sister.

"You trying out today?" She asks eating toast. "Yep. Chaser like  always." I sigh.

"You really want to be a beater don't you." She asks.

"Yeah but there is no way that's going to happen because of your brothers. Are you trying out." I say

"yeah for chaser." I nod my head and keep eating.

I finish and head to my dorm to grab my broom. Then I walk towards the pitch. Oliver of course is already their even though tryouts don't start for another 20 minutes.

"Hey Andra. You going to tryout for beater this year?" He asks.

He always asks this question every year and it's always the same answer. "No. You know I could never do that to the twins."

  "I'm just saying." He says putting his hands up in a surrender.

"Care to warm up?" He asks.

"Sure why not." I say and mount my broom taking the quaffle with me and Oliver following.

I try to score on Oliver until everyone else shoes up and we fly down.

"Thanks for coming. Now even if you were in the team last year doesn't mean you'll be on it this year. I need a back up keeper, Two beaters and a backup, three chasers and a backup, and a seeker and a backup." Oliver informs. Split into four groups keepers, beater, Chasers, and seekers." He instructs and we move.

There are 8 people trying out for chasers: Angelina, Katie, Ginny, Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan, Simon Lewis, Henry Mills and Me. Oliver made us split into two teams of four. On one team it was Angelina, Simon, Katie and Seamus and on the other was Henry, Dean, Ginny, and my self. Then Oliver split the six people who are trying out for beater: Fred and George, Alec Lightwood, Cormac McLaggen, Thalia Grace ,she's Brayden's cousin I've meet her a few times and is edgy but nice, and Mindy Parker into two teams of three. Thalia, Alec and Cormac were on my team and Mindy, Fred, and George on the other. Oliver then split up the two keepers: Darry Curtis and David Nolan. Darry was on my team and David was on the other. He then had the two teams scrimmage each other. He made the five seekers: Harry, Isabelle Lightwood, Jace Wayland, Bianca Di Angela, and Maria Lance look for the snitch and whoever got it first got on the team. After an hour Harry caught the snitch ending tryouts. I thought I did a good job. I scored 6 times and made all of them but I also passed to my other teammates.

"Good job everyone and I'll have the results posted on the board in the common room after dinner." Oliver announced.

Then we all headed to the locker room. Once I got back to the castle it was dinner time.

Instead of sitting at the Gryffindor table I went and sat with Bray at her table.

"Hey Bry." I say sitting next to her.

"Hey Alexis how was tryouts?" She asks.

"Fine." I say.

"Hey you play Quidditch right?" I ask her.

She's about to reply when she's interrupted by her brother "Yep and we have a good team this year." Cade says.

"We are going to kick your arse." Our (Brayden, Caden, and Alexis) friend Keefe Wells says.

Keefe is my parent's friends' son. I've known him since he was little as well as Brayden and Caden. Keefe is a two years younger than us but still one of my best friends. "What positions are you guys?" I ask.

"I'm the seeker." Cade announced proudly.

"Beater." Keefe said.

"Keeper." Bray said.

"I wish the best of luck." I reply.

I'm still eating by the time Angelina, Katie, and Ginny come over.

"Hi Brayden." They say politely.

"Hey girls." She replies.

"Are you done?" Angelina asks.

"No." I say with a mouth full of food.

"To bad. Oliver just posted he results and we want to know." Katie said.

"But I'm eating." I whine.

"To bad let's role." Ginny said while Angelina and Katie abducted me.

They carried me to the portrait and into the common. A bunch of boys already crowded the board

"Oh come on. She didn't even tryout for that position." Cormac grumbled.

Once some boys left. Angelina, Katie, and Ginny ran up to the list it read:

Chasers - Katie Bell, Angelina Johnson, Alexis  Wood, backup: Ginny Weasley
Beaters- Fred and George Weasley
backup: Alexis Wood
Keeper- Oliver Wood (captain)
backup: Darry Curtis
Seeker - Harry Potter backup: Jace Wayland

"Yeah we made the team!" The three of them squeal.

"Yippee." I say in a monotone.

We head to our dorm and get ready for bed. I wait until everyone is asleep and sneak out of the common room and into the night.
