Chaper 31: The toad

Alexis

The rest of the summer flew bye. I bounded with my parents and Sirius more.  Fred and I also tried to spend as much time as we could together. We headed to platform 9 3/4 accompanied by Molly, dad, Arthur, Tonks, Madeye, and Remus. Sirius also came in animangus form. Right before we left Sirius nudged Harry and I to follow him into a room. We followed and he changed to his normal form. 

"Bye you too. Hope you have fun and stay safe." Sirius says hugging the both of us.

"She  really wanted to come I hope you know that." Sirius whispers to me.

"I know." I respond. My mum wasn't allowed to come because everyone believed she was dead.

Harry and I exited the room and ran though the wall to get to the platform. 

As I as about to get in the train my dad called my name.

"Alexis. I just want to say I love you and I'll miss you when you're at school.  Oh and your mum really wanted to come." He said hugging me tightly.

"Thanks dad. I'll miss you too. I love you. Please tell mum I love her too." I say hugging back.

The train ride there was uneventful. Fred, George, Brayden, Lee, Katie, Angelia, and I all sat in our normal compartment.

"What's that pulling the carriages?" Harry asks.

"Nothing's pulling them. Like always." Hermione says and gets into a carriage.

"Don't worry Harry I can see them too." I whisper and get in another carriage with the twins, Ang, Katie, Lee, and Brayden.

While the others were chatting about their summers Fred whispered "what do you mean you could see what've was pulling the carriages?"

"Well the things pulling the carriages are threstals. People can only see them of they've seen some one die. I saw Luke's sister die." I say looking at my shoes.

"If you don't mind can I ask how. " he asks.

I was about to reply when the carriage stopped.
"Meet me in the common room after the feast." I tell him and get off.

We walked into the great hall and fell into the normal routine. The hat sang a song about something bad coming, the first years got sorted, and Dumbledore began his speech.

"Professor Grubbyplanks has agreed to take up the position of care if magical creatures while Hagrid is away on business." He began until he was interrupted.

"Hmm. Hmm. If you don't mind professor I'd like to say a few words." A lady who resembled a toad. Covered in pink. It was disgusting.

"It's so good to see all your young faces smiling up at me. I have a feeling we'll be great friends." She continued.

"That's likely." The twins said muttering under there breathe.

"I am looking forward to teaching you how to be safe and risk free in defense against the dark arts." She said smiling sickly.

"Thank you Dolores. Everyone that was you're new DADA teacher professor umbridge. Enjoy the feast." Dumbledore said.

After stuffing are faces with food. We all followed Ron and Hermione (the prefects) to the common room so we knew the password. "Now to get into the common room you must say the password. You mustn't forget it or you won't be able to get in. Also you can't tell the password to anyone in the other houses. The password is pumpkin Patties. And be sure to check the board the password changes often. " Hermione instructed. Ron just stood there looking weird. We all entered the common room and Hermione and Ron, mostly Hermione, continued to give the first years a tour.

Fred, George, and I hung out by the fire for a bit before going to bed.

"We're going to be great friends." Mimicked George.

"If she thinks that's going to happen then she's got another thing coming." Fred added.

"You already have pranks planned for her don't you." I say.

"But of course." They grinned.

After awhile George left leaving to Fred and I to are thoughts.

"So about the thing you said on carriage." Fred started.

"Oh right." I said taking a gulp of air.

"Well.........." I began.

Flash back third

It as the summer before Luke and Alexis were going to hogwarts and Durmastrong. The two of them were playing outside at Luke's house when Luke's seven year old sister ,Annabeth, came out to play with them. The three of them were playing tag and Luke was it.

Annabeth started to run to the ledge.
"Come and get me Luke." She giggles
Her long shoulder length blonde curly hair bouncing and her Greyish blue eyes sparkling.

"Annabeth watch out for the ledge." Alexis calls.

"Don't worry lex I'll be fine." She giggled.

"I'm going to get you missy." Luke said running towards her.

"Eek." Annabeth shrieks and try's to turn and run away but her foot slips and she falls. She's now holding on to the edge of the ledge.

"Ahhhh! Lex! Luke! Help!" Annabeth begins to cry.

"I'm coming!" Luke says making his way towards his sister. But the ledge cracked a bit under his weight.

"Luke go get your parents. I'll try and get her." Alexis say making my way carefully towards the crying girl.

Luke nods and sprints to the house. Alexis is almost to Annabeth when her fingers start to slip.

"Ahhh. I'm slipping lex hurry!" Annabeth cries harder.

Alexis walks towards her quicker but still carefully. She gets towards Annabeth and grabs her wrist and tries to pull her up but annabeths leg is stuck between a crack in the ledge. "Ow. Ow. Ow." Annabeth says as Alexis tries to pull her up.

"I can't hold on any longer lex."

"Come one just a bit more you're parents and brother will be here soon." Alexis Pleads for Annabeth to hang on.

"I can't tell them I love them." Annabeth says and let's go of my hand. Alexis screams as she watches her friend fall.

Luke comes running out with his parents. "What happens where's Annabeth?" He asks.

"I told her to hang on. She was holding
My hand. She let go." Alexis says sobbing looking away from the mangled body at the bottom the ledge.

"No." Luke sobbed. and his parents cried as well.

"I'm sorry I could've saved her. I feel horrible." Alexis says sobbing.

"No it's ok Alexis. It's no ones fault." Luke said hugging me.

"Need right. It's no ones fault." Luke's mum ,Bella, says hugging the two sobbing children.

Alexis

"And I let guilty for the longest time. But I got over it." I finished.

"I'm so sorry." Fred said hugging me.

"It's alright. I'm ok know." I say hugging him.

"I'm glad you told me though." Fred said kissing my head. We spent the rest of the time cuddling and sitting by the fire.
