Saving her

Chapter 17

Monica lay in the dark room. Her head was spinning. The warmth of the body next to her was comforting, almost as comforting as the steady breathing from the same body. "Chandler" she mumbled "I love you" she whispered, pulling the covers up to her chin around herself. She felt him stir against her body but was still aware that he was asleep. He let out a loud snore at which she let out a small giggle. After staring at the ceiling for what seemed like forever, Monica sat up and quietly picked up the shirt on the floor beside her.
She made her way to the bathroom, turning on the dim, flickering, light and locking the door as she went. Monica closed the toilet seat and sat with her head in her hands. "Why...why...why" she repeated, her head furiously shaking. She felt happy, ecstatic even, but at the same time she wanted to throw up. She had let him see her naked. She couldn't help but look up down at the tiled floor before standing up to reach for the towel rail. She threw off the shirt she was barely wearing and studied himself in the mirror. Her hand rested on her extremely concaving stomach as she let a small tear roll down her cheek. Monica grabbed a towel and placed it on the floor in front of the toilet before kneeling down and opening the lid. She then closed her eyes let herself in for the self-destructing ritual she was used to and let herself cry as she began to hate herself that little bit more.

After sitting in the bathroom for about 20 minutes Monica stood from the floor and once again let her hand rest on her stomach. She knew there was no visible difference in herself, but she felt a bit more satisfied with herself.
Once she had brushed her teeth and drying her face, Monica picked up the shirt and went back to bed, climbing in beside Chandler once again, kissing his chest before closing her eyes and beginning to catch what little sleep she was going to get.
