The first part of this chapter really does belong at the end of the last, but I wanted to leave with a cliff-hanger so... yeah!

"What?" Chandler asked, pulling her closer. She shook her head, refusing to repeat herself again. "It's okay Mon. Go back to sleep" he lay her back down and pulled her right into his chest, her head buried in his shirt "like you said. I will ALWAYS keep you safe" he smiled before kissing her head and waiting for her to sleep soundly before drifting off himself.

It was Monica who was woken first. It was Monica who felt the cold drift from the broken motel window, and it was Monica who felt the restraint around her arms that caused her open her eyes and face the sunlight.
"Chandler?" She groaned, attempting to tilt her head up to see him better. Although when she looked up her heart began to melt. His mouth was half open, but seemed to be smiling, and his hair was just everywhere. She giggled quietly before leaning up and lightly pinching his nose.
After a few moments of stirring, he finally came to. "So, uh, good morning" she smiled at him "nice hair" she giggled as he finally opened his eyes. "Oh yeah, and you're one to talk. Have you looked in a mirror Mon?" He smirked, receiving an awkward, yet sneering, glance "Monica, I'm kidding" he smiled pulling her into a hug again. They stayed in that position for what seemed like forever, until Monica broke their VERY comfortable silence. "Do we have to go?" She snuggled closer to his chest. "Yes Mon. Sorry, but we do. We only asked for one night" he pulled her closer again "Come on. I think we should get up now. Or we never will" "I'm okay with that" she replied, neither of them making an attempt to move themselves.
Just as they both began to drift back off to sleep, they were shot back to reality by a long banging on the motel room door.
"I'll get it" Chandler said lifting himself from the bed and throwing on some sweats. He threw Monica a smiling glance as he opened the door and was faced with the man they met previously at the front desk.
"Hello there you two. I've just come to let you know that check-out is at 10 and it's 9:35". Chandler just gave an apologetic smile to the man and nodded. "Okay. We won't be long". Chandler then closed the door and smiled as Monica finally climbed out of bed.

"Come on Chandler!" Monica mockingly shouted as Chandler finished paying the old man at the desk for their stay.
"Well, that was cheaper than I thought. What do you wanna do now?" Chandler jumped into the car next to Monica and gave her a smile but she just looked away. "You took your time" she sneered at him. "Oh come on sweetie" he smiled before leaning over to kiss her cheek. A smile began to creep onto Monica's face, Chandler though, kept his laughter to himself.
"Chandler?"... silence "Chandler?"... silence "Chandler? What's wrong? I'm trying to talk to you" concern lightly coating her voice.
"Sorry, I was just thinking" he smiled awkwardly.
"I know that look Chandler, What's wrong? You were fine when we left". He looked over towards Monica, yet she felt as though he wasn't actually looking at HER. He looked almost ad though he were looking through her, his eyes glazing over. "I...I have a question? In fact, It's not even a question. More of a... concern" he looked back towards the road ahead. "Chandler, what?" She placed her hand on his knee, trying to bring his words out. "what brought on your dream last night? I mean, it seemed a bit intense for something just out-of-the-blue". Monica's hand shot off his leg, almost as if burnt, and came to rest on her lap. She then began looking down towards her hands, fidgeting and beginning to look extremely uncomfortable.
"It's kind of a long story..." she trailed off. This time he looked at her, RIGHT AT HER! He nodded and gave a sweet smile, reassuring her to continue with her 'story'.
"Well, it was about 2 or 3 years ago now. I was only 16..."

"Monica? Is that you?" she heard her boyfriend, Michael, call from the bedroom of his apartment. "Yeah Mike?" She replied, giggling as she walked into her 'college boyfriend's' apartment. "Just stay out there baby. I'll be out in a minute". His voice was anxious, worry coursed through her as she defied him and headed towards the bedroom. "Michael?" She almost whispered as she slowly opened his bedroom door to reveal her boyfriend of 8 months lying naked on top of another girl. Monica screamed and tried to walk away. "Monica please!" He shouted as he grabbed her arm and pulled her back. Suddenly his lips were on hers. "Michael! NO!" She sighed pushing him back, but he was persistent.
Monica wad pinned to the wall, looking over Michael's shoulder she saw the blonde-haired girl run out of his apartment. "I love you so much Monica" he whispered as tears ran down her face. "Please forgive me!" He pulled away. Monica wiped her eyes and walked past him. "I could NEVER forgive you. I trusted you. You promised you would keep me safe!" She shouted as fresh tears began to fall in place of the old ones. "Monica" he held out his hand to lightly hold her forearm "I keep you safe what are you talking about. You are amazing, I don't want to lose you. Please...". Monica stepped away, Michael's grip being slowly lost "you didn't keep me safe, You let me get hurt. The worst part of all is that YOU were the one who hurt me. Just because I'm 16 and not ready to be with you, like that yet, you ruined everything we had. You couldn't just be patient!" She opened the door to leave, but caught his last sentence. "I'm a guy! What did you expect!"

"And I've never had a boyfriend since. I couldn't trust anyone. I stopped letting people walk all over me, and as a result... I'm like this. I've run away from my family without even a goodbye, I occasionally drink vodka as a hobby and I can't trust anybody" tears streamed down her face.
Suddenly the van stopped and Monica felt Chandler's arms wrap around her body. "Do you trust me?" He whispered into her hair. Monica pulled away and looked up into Chandler's eyes. "Your eyes are really blue" she smiled up at him. He reached up one hand and wiped her tears before pressing his forehead against hers. "I could say the same to you" he smiled back. "Chandler?" She spoke cautiously. When he tilted his head towards her as a gesture of reply he found her lips lightly pressing themselves to his. When Monica slowly pulled away after only a few second she smiled at him once again "Yes. I trust you" she smiled as she let his arms envelope her as the weights were lifted from her shoulders.

Just a small note to say that my phone crashed. My phone had all of my unpublished chapters for this fic and so I've been rewriting. So that explains the absence of updates. I have however been trying to get at least a chapter a day since I have no plans for the rest of this week so hopefully there will be several updates.
