<Kaylin>

I saw the tears in her eyes. I had caused that and it felt like my heart was torn to shreds.

I didn't know what to do but I couldn't just leave her after a kiss like that. I reached into my pocket and retrieved my cell. I quickly typed in her name an let her put the number in my contacts.

She pulled out her phone and we repeated the process with my number.

"Sam, call me whenever. I don't care what time I'll do anything you ask," I whispered.

She smiled and then we got up and walked back to the party.

I lost her on the way through the door so I looked for Layla. I spotted her at the same time she found me. She motioned for me to meet her at her car.

I turned around and walked out to the car. I waited for what felt like forever before she finally appeared.

We drove home in dead silence. Every so often I caught her glaring at me but I didn't want to risk pissing her off so far from her house.

When we finally pulled into her driveway, I turned to her. She glared and rolled her eyes getting out of the car.

"What's your problem?" I asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Layla hissed.

"You've been sulking the whole way home," I said.

Instead of answering, she ran up the steps and into the house leaving me outside. I followed her a minute later but she was nowhere to be seen.

I considered calling her name until I ears movement upstairs. Of course, I would look everywhere but her room. I eat crying as I approached her door. I barely pushed it open I fin her sitting on the floor holding a blade and blood running down her arm.

"Did you have fun with Sam?" he spat at me.

I ignored her question as I got some stud to clean up her cut. I got down on my knees in front of her and reached for her arm. She snatched it away.

"So your pissed at me because I like someone?" I questioned.

"You like her!?!" she practically yelled.

"Maybe," I mumbled.

"She's a stuck up fucking bitch! She will only use you and then throw you away like garbage," Layla said.

"I don't think so. I saw something in her tonight," I said, "and raises if I want to throw my heart int he fire as my friend you should support me."

We were silent until I finished cleaning and bandaging the cut. I was about to get up off the floor when she pulled me back down and kissed me.

I could feel the desperation in her so I didn't pull away. I didn't kiss her back either. I couldn't possibly take advantage of my best friend like that.

"Please," she whispered, her tears speaking louder than her voice.
