<Sam>

1 year later

I walk up and lay a single rose on her grave. This is the first time I've been here since the funeral. It's just too hard to lay my hand on the cool stone and not fall apart again.

I open the locket with her picture. I don't have to, I know every inch of her face. Her green eyes that were so full of life. Her black hair that was so soft. Those perfect lips that left me wanting more.

I hear a rustle in the leaves behind me. Turning around, Layla wraps her arms around my waist. I glance at her grave and suddenly all the pain is back.

I lay my head on Layla's shoulder And just let the tears fall. She holds me tighter until I finally stop.

"Kaylin, I'll never get over you, but maybe I'll move on", I say.

More tears stream down my face. I fall to my knees and run my fingers over the name carved into the stone.

Kaylin Michelle Winters.

I hold onto Layla's hand as we walk back to her car. I sit down and play with the ring on my finger.

"Goodbye my love"
