True Story

Jump. I'll never forget jumping in my new pool that day. I never had a pool before and I was so excited. My mom told me that night. Tomorrow afternoon the pool would be ready.

Today I got on the highest diving board, and leapt in head first. My head felt ice cold, for the longest time. I tried swimming but couldn't move. My body it seemed was frozen in an upside down position. I tried screaming but could not. I could only float still upside down in my freezing little pool.

I saw white crystals fall underwater. I suddenly recognized snow. It was snowing. In the middle of September? I heard a man's voice. Now folks I'm so sorry it took this long. I heard my mom's voice. Oh I just hate this, evil, evil little pool. It's been three months since our daughter drowned. I heard my dad's voice. Get it out of my back yard I heard my mom yell.

I felt the pool lift up onto a truck. I heard the truck drivers talking. So where we taking dis ting? It's gonna get cremated. A couple of hours later I wasn't cold anymore. I was very, very warm.
