True Story

Have you ever wondered about the consequences of pirate gaming? I remember one incident and it was pretty scary.

I was playing a game called Ratchet Deadlocked. Ratchet and Clank was  my favorite video-game series of all time, and I wanted to play Ratchet  and Clank 3 again.

Unfortunately my copy of the game was  scratched. Luckily for me, my PS2 could handle pirated games. So I asked  one of my dad's friends to give me a pirated copy of Ratchet and Clank  3.

A week had passed and I was still waiting for the game. It  wasn't until Friday at exactly 12:00 that the guy appeared and gave me  the game. I went to my room and closed the door. I put the game in the  PS2 and I was playing a surprisingly good, working game, as most of my  pirated games had some sort of bug like out of place textures and  missing models.

One odd thing was the title screen. There was no  logo and Ratchet was nowhere to be found. The reason why it was odd was  because the title screen was a CGI cutscene and not an ordinary  cutscene.

After staring at it for some time the Demo started,  and there was nothing wrong there besides the fact that Ratchet appeared  most of the time fighting Mother Thyrranoid without Clank on his back.  Something that never happened in the game, and neither did the fight  appear in the demo. So I started the game and played through it with no  problems.

After defeating Qwark in Florana, instead of going to  the ship I was treated with a teleportation point. The teleportation  point took me to Thyrranosis, an area that would only appear later in  the game. I had only one weapon, and it was the HoloShield Glove. I was  desperate since it was at
level 1 meaning that it was useless. I  searched for a Gadgetron Vendor but found nothing. But I also did not  find any enemies, so I decided to do the mission of that planet and to  destroy all the defense turrets.

As I would progress through each turret there would be written on the floor a
different word. Before destroying the last turret, I went back to view  all the words written on the floor. What I found was: FRIEND; DON'T;  I'M; WORRY; YOUR.

Putting all this words in order it read: DON'T WORRY, I'M YOUR FRIEND.

I destroyed the last turret and saw a gross image of the Mother  Thyrranoid with a huge hole on her stomach. After that the passageway to  the boss was
opened but I did not have Clank on my back. After that I took a break and went for a walk.

There was this cave that I used to play in and I went to see how it was  after two years. I heard screams from inside and I went in to  investigate. There were two kids playing Ratchet and Clank: Size  Matters. I asked them if they enjoyed the game and they ignored me.

Actually, the whole time they didn't even notice I was there. I left  the cave just to discover the two kids outside in front of a building.  The kid playing handed over the PSP to his friend saying: "Be careful, I  like it a lot."

And the other kid said: "Don't worry, I'm your  friend." Then I recognized the words from the game. I went home and  played the game again. This time the logo wasn't there as well but there  was the quote "Why did you leave me?" written with the same art style  as the title. This time, Clank was nowhere to be seen and Ratchet was  using his
Inferno Armour.

I loaded my save file only to  find myself on the boss battle with the Mother Thyrranoid instead of  starting at the beginning of the planet. I opened the Quick Select to  find only two weapons, the Infector and the R.Y.3.N.O. I used the  R.Y.3.N.O on Mother Thyrranoid's 1st phase and then found myself  fighting Giant Clank, not Klunk, Clank.

I used the R.Y.3.N.O on Giant Clank as well but right after that the console
turned off and my phone started ringing. The guy on the other end just  said: "You have no heart, and you don't have the right to live."
