Chapter 17

I sat and played around with the laminated menu. I've been sitting here for over 20 minutes and no one has introduced themselves to me. "Where is this 'K' person?! They were supposed to here about 20 minutes ago." I mumble to myself as people walk in and out of the cafe. I start getting frustrated. I impatiently tap my foot against the floor, staring at the door. The waitress brought the glass of water I asked for and asked if I was waiting for someone. "Yeah, they're just a bit late. Give me a couple more minutes." I urged her and she nodded, leaving me alone.

I'm just about to leave when someone walks through the door, a boy about my age. His hair was a dark purple, and he was wearing round rim glasses. He had a hoodie on and looked nervous. I watched him as he spoke to one of the waitresses. He fiddled with one of the strings on his hoodie, his eyes glancing everywhere. He asked the waitress something which she responded by pointing in my direction. I look away. I quickly glance back and see the new comer walking towards me. He reaches my table and sits down. His gaze was fixated on the table, not even looking at me once. "H-hi. I'm the guy who wrote you that letter. I'm Kanou." He spoke quietly and anxiously. So he's 'K'? "Oh nice to meet you, I'm glad to finally put a face to the name. So what is it that you wanted to talk about?" I asked him as a waitress came to take our order.  "A chocolate Frappe please. And Kanou?" I look at him and he just shakes his head. "No I'm fine. Maybe a glass of water please?" She smiles and walks away. "Well um. You know how Usui wrote that letter saying how he doesn't like you and how he acted towards you yesterday? Well.... It's all my fault." I tilt my head and my eyebrows knit together. "How was any of that your fault? He said it himself that he doesn't like me..." I look down at the table and faked a smile. "You don't have to blame y-"
"No! It was my fault." He blurted out. I looked up at him surprised. He glanced at me then back at the table. "Just please listen, I'll tell you everything."

I'm sprinting down the the crowded street. My legs aching and my hair rushing behind me. I can't believe this. I knew it!

---Flash Back---
"So I'm a professional at hypnotism. Misaki came to me a couple of days ago and asked me to hypnotise Usui. Of course I asked why but she wouldn't tell me, so I refused. She then told me that it was for a project that she was doing, I found it quite strange. I tried to get more answers but she eventually snapped and forced me into doing it. I asked her what I wanted to hypnotise Usui into doing and she said it was to hate the person he loves, I didn't like the idea but I didn't have a choice. So that day I went to Usui and waves my hands slowly in front of his face and said this, "You are now in my control. Now when I snap my fingers, you will hate the person you love the most." I then snapped my fingers and left him. If I knew you where the person he holds dearest and how much pain this was going to cause you I wouldn't of done it. I'm so sorry."

---end flash back---

I can't believe Misaki actually resorted to hypnotism! She must want Usui badly. Thanks you Kanou! I owe you one! I thought to myself as I drew closer to school. Today was the day of the spring festival, I was going to skip out on it but not anymore. I need to see Usui.

---flash back---

"How can I break him out of his hypnotic state?" Kanou sighs. "Sorry but I don't know. I'm good at performing it but I'm not the best at reversing it, I'm certain that you'll figure it out though. Do your best (Name)!"

---end flash back---

My breath was shortening as I ran faster. I must reach Usui. I must free him. The school was in the distance. I'm coming Usui!
