"It's crazy, it's dangerous, and it definitely isn't lawful. What are you thinking Gordon!" Mackey yelled at Jim when he proposed his idea.

Jim thought he liked the sound of Vic Mackey when he first arrived, but he didn't seem to understand that Gotham wasn't cookie cutter, and that everything wasn't black and white. Sometimes the bad guys made the best good guys.

"Sir, we've searched everywhere and spoke to everyone. They're probably our best bet. They know underground Gotham. Hell, they are underground Gotham. Give them a chance." Jim asked, practically begging. He wasn't too happy with the idea either, but as long as Barbara was free, she'd keep killing people. Keep terrorizing Jim and threatening Lee.

"I want your eyes on them at all times Jim. I don't care what they're doing, you are to know every detail. I don't want a bead of sweat rolling down one of their backs without you knowing, got that Gordon?" Mackey demanded as he sat in his chair, letting Jim know they were finished talking, "Yes sir." Jim said, leaving the office and preparing to go see Jerome and Rumer in Arkham.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jerome waited for Rumer. She'd been put in solitary for attacking a fellow inmate... again. Jerome honestly had no idea how she didn't have her own section in the ward. She even scared him a little bit.
He heard her, singing her little heart out as she was brought into the rec cell. When she came into view, Jerome felt like it was his first time seeing her again. Then he growled inwardly seeing her on a young guards back. He did not like the sight of her legs being wrapped around some other guy. And he really didn't like the smile stuck on the guard's face.
Jerome met the two of them at the door, pulling Rumer off of the eager guard and attacked her lips with his. Deciding to do what he did best - being a spiteful jerk - Jerome sneered at the guard the entire time, lifting his middle finger a bit more with every bite Rumer took at his lip, which were a lot.
Feeling the absence of Jerome's hand on her, she had an idea of what he was doing and put her hand up behind her back and flipped the guard the bird with her boyfriend, not moving her mouth from his.
"Watch the PDA, Valeska. The two of you never really know when to stop anything." Hearing Jim's voice, Rumer released Jerome and turned around, "JIM! How've you been? I've missed you, believe it or not."
Jerome kept his left arm around his girl, preventing her from running to the detective. She was his girl. "Yeah, you were missed, we're doing fine, blah blah blah. What would you like Detective Gordon?" He asked as his arm squeezed tight around Rumer.
"I have a deal for the two of you." Jim turned to the guard, "Is there a place I can speak with these two in private?" Before he could answer though, Rumer did, "Of course! Anything for you, Detective Gordon. Let's go to my office." Rumer grabbed Jerome's hand and led Jim towards the offices, opening a door that had her name on it. "Remind me to ask you about this later." Jim said as he observed the beautifully furnished room.
He would have assumed that she'd just stolen a skeleton key to the asylum, but the decor matched her now turquoise and blonde curly hair. Very eye catching and very intentional.
She and Jerome made their way to the other side of the desk, Jerome sitting down first and pulling Rumer into his lap. Once she was comfortable, Rumer gestured to the seat across from her and Jerome, "Please, sit Jim. I insist." Jim sat down, irritated at how comfortable the chair was. "Now that we're all comfy, what would you like to speak about Jim?" Rumer asked.
Jerome was too busy leaving butterfly kisses at the nape of her neck. Of course Jim would show up before Jerome got to spend any alone time with her.
"Well, I have a deal for the two of you. I, along with the rest of the GCPD, are willing to let the two of you go free. You can live your life as regular, kind citizens of Gotham. We can even provide you with the first payment of your rent or mortgage." Jim said, smiling at the couple the way he did whenever he was trying to seem friendly and failed.
Rumer grabbed Jerome's arm, signaling him to stop, "What's the catch? What do you want? A deal like that isn't free. Especially not for the guy that shot your boss and the girl that aided him."
Jim sighed forlornly, "We need you to find and get rid of Barbara."
