Well hey guys!
This is just a small author's note before this chapter begins.
Lately I've kind of just been having fun with this story, but it's got such a good response that I want to take it more seriously. I update whenever I can but I'm going to try and put more effort into my chapters ^__^
I also want it to get more dramatic, because really all that's happened so far is that they've gone to Ichiraku -_________________-"
SO. I will be making this story more exciting! It's almost up to 800 views, so thank you guys so much! I hope to get to 1,000 soon, so please PROMOTE THIS~~!
Ah. Sorry if I sound annoying.
But yeah.
Okay, enjoy this chapter!

Ino hurried ahead of me. She had confidence now. My sudden spurt of meaningful thoughts had spurred her on to just accept that Sasuke was here. I tapped her elbow.
"I'm just going to the bathroom, okay?" I said loudly, trying to be heard over the noise of loud music blaring through nearby speakers. She nodded and smiled gratefully at me once again before disappearing into the crowd.
I did a three-sixty turn. Um, so, yeah, maybe I should've asked her where the bathroom actually was. I never cease to amaze myself with my utter stupidity.
I pushed through the crowd, trying to see a sign or something, when I found myself in the middle of a dance floor.
Oh dear sweet mother of god Ichiraku had a dance floor.
Not only that but everyone dancing was super good looking. I, on the other hand, was still in my goddam shorts... And I needed to pee. Damn, this was embarassing.
Hoping my flaming cheeks were hidden by my hair, I ducked my head and tried to find my way off of the dance floor without drawing any attention to myself.
Just as I thought I had made it to a safe zone, I felt someone grab my arm and yank me back. I yelped slightly as I was spun around and pulled in close to the stranger's chest. I could feel my cheeks redden considerably as a few people wolf-whistled.
"O-oi," I mumbled, looking up to see who was trying to capture me. It wasn't any of my heroes, anyway, so I couldn't scare 'em off with my stupendous knowledge of Naruto.
It was an incredibly hot guy, grinning lopsidedly down at me. He had one arm snaked around my waist and the other gripped my arm tightly.
As soon as I met his eyes, I had to look away again. Damn, I hated myself for blushing. He chuckled at my bashfulness.
"Wanna dance?" He cooed.
Like I had a choice. The boy had a grip of steel.
Not waiting for me to respond, he pulled my into the middle of the dance floor again. I struggled in his arms. "Whoa, wait, I never said—"
"Aw, c'mon, lighten up," he interrupted, pouting.
Pouting? Really?
I huffed. "Hey, the polite thing to do is wait for someone to answer the question."
He broke into that cocky grin again. "I already knew the answer."
Arrogant bastard.
I yanked my arm free of his grip. "Back off, pal. I don't want to—"
Suddenly, he smashed his lips against mine. His breath reeked of alcohol. I gagged, struggling to pull away.
Shit shit shit...
I felt a strong, warm hand on my shoulder and suddenly Arrogant-Bastard was off of me. I sucked in a grateful breath and looked up to see Naruto glaring daggers at him. I felt my breath catch in my throat.
Naruto was terrifying. His nostrils flared, his eyes were slits, and I felt his hand tremble on my shoulder. I swallowed.
The guy who had kissed me saw this too and backed off quickly, disappearing.
I heaved a sigh of relief and realised I was shaking. "Thanks," I tried to say, but it came out in a broken whisper. I felt sick.
Naruto tore his gaze away from the retreating attacker and worriedly ran his eyes over me. "Lucy, your wrist," he muttered, taking my arm in his hand gently.
I stared at it blankly before registering that there was a big, blue bruise forming on where the boy had a grip on me. "Oh. Ow."
Naruto's eyes met mine. He looked angry again. "I thought you were going to the bathroom."
I blinked. "I was. I was trying to find it when I got yanked out here."
Naruto didn't seem to believe me.
"What?" I asked defensively. "You don't actually think that I ditched Ino to...you do!"
Naruto focussed his attention back on my wrist.
"No," he said softly. "No, sorry. Sorry."
His blond hair brushed against my arm. It was surprisingly soft. I studied his face as he examined my bruise. His eyelashes were thick and dark and caressed his cheeks as his eyes scanned my arm. The lights of the disco ball hanging overhead danced across his skin and made his eyes sparkle.
Naruto raised his head to look at me. "What?"
I blushed and looked away, mumbling, "Nothing..."
He straightened up, seeming embarassed too. "Er, well, the bathroom's over there. I'll see if Ayame has some band-aids or something," he muttered, hurrying off.
I watched him until he disappeared into the crowd before dashing to the bathroom.
I gripped the sink tightly with two hands shakily.
What was happening to me? Could I really have a crush on Naruto? No, no way, that was impossible.
Lucy, there's a delicate balance in all of this. Don't do anything to disrupt it. I told myself fiercely.
I stared at myself in the mirror.
My cheeks were still pink, and my mind conjoured up images of Naruto on the dance floor again.
Maybe it was true.
Maybe I really did love Naruto.
