"Lucy!" someone screamed. Their voice was muffled and hard to make out. Who was that? Naruto? Sasuke?
My whole stomach clenched. This wasn't fun anymore. This wasn't me hanging out with my heroes. This was a life-death situation and this could be the moment Sasuke kills Itachi.
This could be the moment where I completely destroy Kishimoto's plot and alter their lives forever.
I didn't want that to happen.
I didn't want to destroy their happy ending.
"No!!" I screamed, yanking at the chains even though it hurt like hell. "Don't come in! Don't come in! Get out of here!"
Itachi gave me a look. I could see his face now, with the door open. He looked utterly confused. "Who are you?"
I stared at him. I didn't know how to reply. Who was I? I didn't know. I was putting my heroes in danger and I wasn't that important to the plot so all they had to do was let me die and things could go back to normal.
I was a side character that had selfishly taken the spotlight in one of those stupid filler chapters and now I wanted out. I wanted out because I couldn't handle this, I couldn't handle all the stress these people go through every day.
I wanted to go home and read manga and listen to my favourite music too loudly and eat my favourite ice-cream and hug my parents.
This is not what I wanted.
I heard them scream my name again. "LUCY!"
"No!" I begged. "Please! Get out of here! Please!" I felt tears begin to pour down my cheeks. I was terrified. I thrashed about, rattling the chains. "Get out, get out!" They had to get out of here. I didn't want them to die. I didn't want to watch them get hurt trying to save me.
My cries echoed uselessly against the walls of what I vaguely recognised as a warehouse. I could hear their footsteps as they dashed about, searching for me, and fighting off attackers. I felt my stomach churn.
Itachi was still staring at me. I looked to him. "Please," I whispered. "You run, too. Please. "
He blinked. "M-me?"
I nodded.
"Why do you even care? Why do you want me to run?" he asked.
"Because I love you too," I reply.
His mouth fell open.
"ITACHI!"
My gaze snapped to the door.
There, covered in blood, and panting heavily, was Sasuke.
Oh god, no.
