The sun shone brightly in a girl's bright blue eyes, blinding her for a moment. Her blond hair turning to a honey gold in the sunlight, matching the beautiful meadow behind her. A carmel horse stood beside her, grazing on the golden flowers surrounding her and her rider. The two relaxed in the meadow, enjoying their time away from the castle, half expecting a guard to come and drag them back to the castle.

"It's not fair Carmella. Just cause I'm a princess doesn't mean the world revolves around me! I want some adventure but my parents won't even let me get dressed by myself!" The princess complained, braiding Carmella's mane.

The princess's name was Krystal, the soon to be queen of the Ice Cap kingdom. Even though the name seemed off for the location, it is quite suiting. When winter comes around, normally during October, the whole kingdom and all of it's inhabitants will be covered in the first years snow. It was a kingdom full of snow and ice, just as Krystal liked it.

"Well then, my lady, I can help you with that." A rough male voice answered. Krystal turned around to see a peasant who looked to be the age of 30. His shirt, stained with grease from a meal ages ago and the smell of whiskey still hung tightly to his mouth. His face was chubby and round matching his belly.

"Who are you sir?" Krystal asked, suddenly fearful of her wish. Witch, Warlocks, and Wizards lived all throughout the land, granting wishes, casting spells, or making potions for the better or for the worst. Krystal started to regret making a verbal wish.

"I am a humble servant by the name Jacob Will and I, my ladyship would like to grant your desires." A chill ran down the princess's spine, making her suddenly fear the worst. This had to be the work of a warlock, Krystal thought.

"Please ignore my rambling and leave me be." Krystal started to back away from the peasant. The man grabbed the princess's wrist, throwing her over his shoulder, dragging her towards her horse. Krystal started to struggle against the man's grip but the alcohol running through his system gave him strength, making the princess's struggles worthless. Yet Krystal was not willing to give up.

"If you don't let me go, my parents will have you beheaded!" Krystal yelled, hopping to gain the attention of anyone in the surrounding woods. A burlap sack was placed over Krystal's head to silence her, but it only encouraged her to be louder. "You can not be serious! A bag will not silence me! I don't even agree with your forms of transportation!" Krystal was thrown to the ground with a heavy thud, sending the air rushing out of her lungs. A hand crossed Krystal's face, startling her.

He hit me. She thought with great fear.

"Are you finished with your empty threats? Because I do not fear you nor your parents. No one will be able to find you once your out of the kingdom and across the lake." Jacob said, holding her chin. Krystal couldn't help but glare through the brown bag with slight light glowing through it. She was lifted up again, this time not as gently and thrown onto her horse, who thought this all was a big game and she wanted to play along. Jacob mounted the horse, shifting the saddle along with the princess, who was officially bound to the saddle no more than seconds after she was thrown on the horse. "Comfy there princess?" Jacob asked before he slapped Carmella, making her break into a canter.

Hours floated by and the sun was setting on the Horizon, setting along with Krystal's hope of escaping. She figured they were headed south-east, and it was not a good sign. It meant they were getting closer to the ocean, the only thing that could separate her from her freedom.

The land across the ocean, called The Land Of Shifters, consist of murderous men, enslaved people, and monsterous creatures that were given the names Vampire and Werecreatures. Tales of them crossing the ocean was used to scare children but some were true, which lead to the creation of silver swords and holy water. But none the less, they were still children's bed time stories.
