Keeper Of A Dragons' Heart (Girl X Girl)

Chapter 2

 A cave, which contained a princess, 2 horses, and a knight from the freezing rain and harmful lightning. The knight was busy lighting a fire while the princess was busy wringing out her dress.

"I'm drenched! And now I'm gonna freeze!" She complained, pulling her wet slippers off her feet.

"I'm trying ok?!" The knight yelled from where he knelt, finally getting the fire started.

"How dare you?! I am the princess of the Ice Cap Kingdom and you know better than to speak to me like that!" Krystal yelled, frustrated with the days' events. The knight snapped to his feet, a growl admitting from deep within his throat, startling the princess. Flaming violet eyes glowed brightly from within the silver helmet.

Smoke slivered through the grates of the knights helmet, growing thicker by the second. A sizzling sound of something burning filled the cave, followed by thicker smoke. Krystal let out a startled cry as she moved to the other side of the fire, placing an element between her and the knight. The cry snagged the knights attention, making him snap out of his enraged state. His violet eyes dimmed and he whipped himself around, turning to the mouth of the cave before rushing out into the rain and out of sight.

Silence filled the cave, no thunder, no movement, nothing that could break this newly placed trance. Krystal brain was completely blank, except for one thought.

The knight was a Shifter. A creature of limitless power. And he was keeping her prisoner.

Krystal ran to her horse, climbing into the saddle as quickly as possible, forcing her horse into the freezing rain and howling wind. Where she was headed, Krystal hadn't the slightest idea, but she knew she had to get away from the knight.

Who knew what he was planning to with me! He could of been baiting me, using me as prey. Or worse!

Krystal kicked Carmella harder, pushing her out of her gallop and into a canter. She wanted nothing but to place miles between the shifter and herself, not wanting to waist a second. Trees began to thin out, giving Krystal a better vantage point of what was ahead, but also making her easy prey.

A single howl shattered through the violent wind and thunder, making the animal's presence know. Another howl followed, louder than the first. Carmella stopped, rearing in fear as Krystal started to slid off of the saddle. Krystal screamed as Carmella continue to rear and buck at the new noise. Krystal was thrown completely off her horse, who took off as fast as she could. Krystal landed with a thump, laying flat on the ground, feeling her whole body vibrate. She groaned, pushing herself off up, feeling no serious pain. Shadows circled her, snarling and snapping their jaws, drawing closer to the unarmed princess.

"No! Go away!" She shouted, trying to startled the beasts, hopping to discourage them from making her their next meal. The first shadow, much larger than the others, began to shift forms, bones snapping and cracking as the replaced the shadow with the form of a teenaged male, nearly an adult.

"Why princess," His voiced sounded like honey, his eyes violet. "Would we leave you here by yourself?" He smiled, his teeth straight, perfect, except for one thing. They were red blood from a fresh kill.

Krystal leaned over, covering her mouth, dry-heaving.

"Princess? What's wrong?" The shifter asked. He looked confused before frowning. "Never seen blood before Hun? Too bad, I thought you had a better stomach than that. Can't be weak when your the mate of a werewolf."

Krystal stood frozen, stunned. "M-m-mate?! What?! No! Never!" She turned to run but found the male standing in her way.

"How rude. You should be grateful you've been mated to an alpha. And one that can protect you." He grew closer to Krystal as she backed away, frightened.
